Having stayed at many hotels of all kinds over many years, this hotel as eclipsed them all. All staff members were as helpful and friendly as they could possibly be, nothing was too much trouble for them. Most impressed by the fact that as we left we enquired as to the system of giving gratuities to staff and was informed that there was not one as they considered all "extras" as part of their Job. Most impressed and will certainly recommend to others.
all reviews » Staff courteous and welcoming; even called to confirm we were still coming (as we arrived quite late); rooms always clean, consistent, comfortable, accomodating our growing families needs... (not sure what happens when we hit 5 of us though? & that is soon!!) Breakfast was great!. The rooms were comfortable, clean and as we were there with my parents having rooms next door to them was good. We enjoyed lovely breakfasts and an evening meal at the lodge keeper, it was convenient and nicely decorated and furnished. Staff everywhere were friendly and helpful. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Extremely accommodating as we were at a local swimming gala and they opened up the breakfast time to 630am so that the swimmers could eat before going to the competition. No complaints really, staff are great, price was good, food/bar was very pleasant and perfect for our needs, which was two day trips to Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth, both of which are nearby. The staff were very friendly, and made you feel welcome. The attatched Brewers Fare produced good quality food ,served by friendly staff,with some very good value for money deals. The hotel was a little out of town but easily accessible. The room was quiet good and clean and the bed was v.comfy with plenty of pillows. The staff were cheerful and helpful. A particularly friendly and helpful welcome, a good sized room, white cotton bedding, very good breakfast which included fresh fruit salad,crumpets, good quality coffee. Staff were so helpful and friendly-made for a wonderful holiday.Great value hotel.James in the dining room particularly stood out ,exceptional service.Many Thanks. Location is good if you're driving to places nearby, but not good if you want to walk around on arrival and explore. No phones in rooms(very strange) Premier Inn policy !! I thought the soap dispenser over the washhand basin was very poor.I found the body soap/shampoo from the shower much more useful as a hand/face wash. It would be nice to have a fridge. There was nothing I disliked. It was very good value, I`d look for a Premier Inn next time . The only small thing I can write about here is that I think the restaurant may need to service the pot washing machine. A couple of dirty cups laid out at breakfast. Nothing. I found the lighting to be rathr dim even with the wall lights on and this made it difficult for me to read as I have a sight problem. Beds too hard. TV too small. Attached eatery was dirty: crockery, plates, mugs were dirty. Coffee from machine cold. Shortage of towels in the bathroom the first night. Spoke to reception who ensured that we had one each for the remainder of our stay. Only one hand towel for 2 people. We asked for another one which we were given but the room staff removed it the following morning. Only one chair in a room is hopeless for relaxing and watching TV and for putting clothes on at night. Would have liked a few more tea bags and milk in the room. 1 The room had a slight unclean smell (I think the carpets could have done with a clean) 2 The breakfast crockery was not always clean (cereal bowls and coffee mugs). Too far away from the center to walk. only comment,one facetowel was provided per double room!. Trying to find the hotel as this was our first visit toChesterfield. cracked cup and that roundabout!!!. Why is there no heated rail in the bathroom?. Weather... Poor quality of shower. Very low pressure. Room too cold. Thermostat didn't work. We stayed in different rooms over 2 nights & both were same. Our room was right in front on the lift. Noise of other guests. Could have done with a second armchair in the room. The pub and restaurant was dreadful, it was poor quality with poor service. I have stayed at many Premier Inns and this pub/restaurant was the worse by a mile. I will not stay there again. Location by multi- roundabouts. Although staff friendly in restaurant it was very busy and full of noisy children . Should have areas set aside for premierinn guests as can be be a little irritating after long journey Little signage before hotel so very difficult to find with postcode provided. room (84) didn't get warm, and heating reverted to cold at about 7am. N/a. The breakfast at the adjoining Harvester inn was disgraceful. Dirty plates, dirty cups and glasses and a kitchen that was unable to keep up with demand for the hot cooked breakfast items. For the £8 or so that was charged, it was very poor value for money. Only 30 minutes free wi-fi in motel - should be free, as it is in the restaurant. On Saturday and Sunday they only had one member of staff manning reception so queue to speak was long The room was too hot. It had no air conditioning. Even with the window open the room was 27 degrees celcius. There was a fan in the room but all this did was push the warm air around. did not like having a separate shower no phone in our room if any problems. the access road was poorly maintained. The ordering online - I thought I've booked a family room and it turned out I've booked a double room. Luckily the staff were able to change this to a twin room which was good. The bathroom had a bad smell of drains which even with the door shut still permeated the bedroom all night. No phone in room to inform reception of problems. The room was an oven, so noisy due to the train track less than a 100 yards from the hotel that woke my children every 30 mins in the night. Eventually we were given a air con unit at 10pm on our second night only because I had to kick off. It was the most stressful 2nights ever and I will not be returning there.
