I was surprised when i arrived at the Hotel. My room was exceptionally clean, the decor pleasing to the eye and the bed very comfortable. The man running the hotel was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast (included) was very good. The hotel is just 10 minutes walk from Cheltenham centre. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Benton's Guest House was particularly well located for us - we could walk easily to all places we needed to go. The place was very clean and tidy and we had a very warm welcome from the owner. The breakfast was excellent and provided at a time of our choosing. I will try to stay there again when I am next in Cheltenham.
all reviews » Nice friendly staff, clean rooms, very good breakfast - with a varied choice. We were on the ground floor so you could hear people chatting outside our room etc, but our friends were upstairs and didn't hear anything, however it wasn't a major issue. Great location to walk into Cheltenham. We would stay here again. Our host Andreas was excellent, could not do enough for you, and made our stay very pleasant. Breakfast was very good, plenty of it along with continental option if required, nothing was too much trouble, we would defiantely stay here again. We loved everything the staff are lovely they welcomed us it felt like a family home the manager made my wife a Spanish omelette for her breakfast which she loved we took pics of the hotel the room was lovely we will defiantly be back. The best of this place is the owners of the guest house, really nice people and very helpful. Breakfast are amazing!! and the location of the house is perfect to visit Cheltenham. The house is very clean and beautifully decorated. Nice rooms in lovely town centre building, very close to everything Cheltenham has to offer. Very convenient for city centre. Lock on bedroom door had slipped so struggled to gain access to our room, Andreas had the knack and pretty much opened it first time. Only possible negative I could offer would be the shared bathroom and shower, but as was only staying for one night this wasn't much of an issue either!. A hook in the bathroom for clothes. A bin in the bathroom. The pillow in my room is not very comfortable. Rather small shower / toilet, with no delay on fan switch-off. No lace or similar curtains, so needed to have blinds drawn right down when dressing / undressing. Double glazing would help reduce traffic noise. I have nothing to say point out here. nothing!. The sausages at breakfast!! rest of breakfast great. Good coffee, good service. The en suite was a little cramped but otherwise it was fine. Not keen on polyester pillowcases and bed not firm enough for me, but that's a personal thing. nothing. Small room. Parking was a bit tight - but I managed ok. Having to pay to park my car outside. No private car park. kettle, tea and coffee provided but no milk or milk sachets. Nothing. No ensuite for single room. Nothing. Parking limited. Looks a little unwelcoming from outside. Nothing. Room was a little cramped but given the price I was paying it was still good value. No towels in the en suite bathroom, so I had to ask for them. There was tea & coffee making facilities but no milk/coffee creamer. Although it was a nice portion at breakfast, the sausages weren't very good quality (90% flour). I arrived, they told me they had fully booked so I have to leave (even though I booked 3weeks in advance). He then realised he'd got it all wrong. The guest house smelt strong of cigarette aroma. The owners couldn't speak much English and were in their pjs all the time.... Which I didn't find professional, or inviting. The room was right next to a loud road so I couldn't sleep at all. The best was extremely uncomfy. No complaints.
