all reviews » We are a group of 5 classmates. When I search on the internet, all accommodations in Cambridge are expensive and outside the main campus. I then choose Lovell Apartments as it has the best pictures of the rooms. It definitely the best choice for groups of people or for families. We have a three bedroom villa, excellent design and fantastic furnished. Although it will take 40 min to walk to the town center, Every Penny you spend is worth the value. The location is perfect, if a little difficult to find initially. It's directly behind a small Co-op store, so perfect for food & drink supplies. It's a house and not an apartment, so very spacious, newly built, with private parking (a real plus in Cambridge!) and a garden! Comfortable, well appointed, with modern fixtures and fittings. Will stay again. Lovely and very confortable apartment, all new and well decorated. Big kitchen with everything you need and it even has a small private garden. right next to the house there is a supermarket where you can buy everything you need!. Location is great to get in and about Cambridge Excellent facilities - sky movies included Next to a local co-op supermarket Can accommodate large family or group of friends. Apartment was ideal for a group of friends comfy and warm ( once we asked how to get the boiler on) beds were really comfy. We were in an apartament near the hotel and it was excellent, clean, new, good taste and good quality furniture,. Parking was terrific. Facilities such as shop and pubs close by. Space. The hotel has these houses which are out the back and across the road from the main hotel. If you have which needs 3 bedrooms then this is a good option. If you are staying in Cambridge a week then you'd be better to rent a house from other places cheaper. You have a nice kitchen and even sky tv. The central heating is good. Morning staff are friendly and helpful. The property was a good size and located about 10-15 minutes from Cambridge. Nice décor and comfortable. A very good price for five of us. Nice garden with barbecue, although wrong time of year for barbecues. Handy for bus route, nice apartment, comfortable. Clean, basic but good value for money. Beds. The location. And that we were staying in a house, not a hotel. Quiet location. When we complained about the state of the flat we were offered alternative flats x 2 for 5 of us but didn't suit as not big enough for all 5 to eat together. Although cleaner, there was a pile of cigarette butts by front door which had obviously not offended the cleaners eyes or may be it was theirs? The manager did send to men to clean flat but even when told what the issues were they still left without hoovering the stairs. They did give us a bottle of wine for compensation but would rather h. Swing door on bath for shower not well fitted, water on floor after shower had to keep mopping it up after shower. Cleanliness not up to scratch. Lack of cleaning materials, even basics such as washing up liquid. Dirty dishcloths and only one dishwasher tablet! No guest information for who to contact with any problems.Staff did take this all on board and I would hope this would be rectified for next guests. Need to have better control for heating. It was too warm. Pillows to plump - meant your head was tilted too much when trying to sleep. Would hve been nice to have a welcome pack including washing up liquid and 1 or two dishwasher tablets. Instructions on how to turn on boiler and also wifi password would have been handy - maybe with taxi numbers etc. We read about the lack of mirrors so had bought our own, but that would have been easily fixed!. A few fraught moments when the smoke alarm went off after making toast for breakfast... Downstairs is wood and slate which is nice, possible a rug or two would make it feel a bit warmer. Nothing. Single bedroom was too small to put a cot in. - a few stains on throw pillows - no salt in kitchen - somewhat early check-out. Nothing. The cable connection was intermittent, but maybe the problem of SKy and not Lovell. Wasn't any washing up liquid in a self catering apartment. nothing. Lack of clean oven equipment. There were no Mirrors, we went as a group of girls and only had one mirror between 6 of us! More mirrors in all apartments!!!. They could at least leave a couple of teabags / coffee for guests to make a drink on arrival - they left one teabag and no milk. The carpet is past its best and should be renewed, but for the moment its just about serviceable. The evening staff are tolerably polite. Poorly equipped kitchen if you are wanting to use it as a self catering property. No bread knife for toast in the morning. No dishcloths, no tea towel, no oven gloves, no dishwasher tablets or washing up liquid so we were unable to wash up and wipe the surfaces. We only stayed one night but would struggle to be fully self catering for longer stays. Hard to find, address on site is not apartment address. Staff at associated hotel unsure about booking. Could only park one car outside, however you could use the hotel car park. lack of mirrors. 1st: only because I phoned the week before did they realise we had a booking. 2nd: on our arrival they tried to split our family up and have 2 of us in the hotel. Then we had an apartment that had 1 double bed when we had booked two. 3rd: it had nothing to start our stay (as advertised) after an 8hr car journey we had to go to the shops. 4th: it was not that clean. Filthy pans in oven. Blinds broken in living room. Freezing cold on arrival, took staff over 30 minutes to get heating on. Hardly any cutlery (only 1 tea spoon, 1 desert spoon). Loose toilet seat. We arrived to park next to wheelie bins,entering noticed stairs were filthy, kitchen cupboard doors sticky, fridge dirty, cutlery drawer had crumbs in it. No one had cleaned it properly. Tv was in spanish and couldn't change it. They sent cleaners to address the issues but still failed to hoover the stairs which couldn't have been hoovered for some time as filthy. Very disappointing as expected basic but not dirty.
