This hotel is like a big friendly B&B, rather than feeling like a stuffy hotel. It's fantastic value and the quality of staff and food is excellent. The grounds of the hotel are reminiscent of a country house, and the setting is just great, despite being only a short drive from Pembroke. We traveled with our 6 month old baby boy and they could not have been more accommodating, it was just all too easy. The hotel has a nice, relaxed family atmosphere, likely the reason it seems to appeal to .
all reviews » the room was clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable and the room was in a quiet spot as requested. the bed was amazingly comfortable and we both slept well which is unusual for us in a strange bed/room. The breakfast was piping hot and freshly cooked, it made all the difference and a welcome change for buffet style breakfasts which are usually hit and miss. staff were warm and welcoming and service was great. The serenity and it was very well signposted the staff were very friendly and helpful the room was spacious and cool even in the hot weather plenty of parking the breakfast had an excellent selection and even when the table outside was not laid out they soon did it without a fuss the management were very kind and understanding when we had a problem in the family all in all I would recommend this hotel to anybody. The wife and i needed a relaxing break away from kids and dogs just to ourselves, and that is exactly what we got and it was great. It was only one night but it just lets you relax in beautiful quite surroundings and recharge your batteries. I have stayed here a number of times before on business so it is convenient. It is also in a lovely rural setting and convenient for touring West Wales if you are on holiday or combining business with pleasure. Breakfast is very good!. All the staff helpful & very friendly would recommend staying here great location great break will go back next time in the area. Staff were really friendly, nothing was too much trouble even thought the hotel was hosting a wedding & very busy. It can be a bit cold in the hotel as the operation of the heating is not always as I would like it. The gents toilets in the main building could really be cleaner and updated. doors to room on a sping when people went in and out they slammed shut . Not enough seating outside, perfect weather to enjoy the surroundings. Room could do with some painting where windows had been replaced. Shower not the best I have had. Nothing. Would have liked a fan or Air Conditioning. Nothing. Nothing. Due to the heat wave the room was extremely hot. Curtains didn't keep the sun from shining through in the day so the room was very hot in the night without the option of air conditioning. nothing to dislike. Nothing. Bedrooms were appropriately furnished , however, the rooms were very hot/humid during our stay. Yes it was the heat of summer, however, availability of fan or air conditioning would have helped. Nothing negative to say about this hotel. Shower was disappointing. Cool showers. nothing. More food choices. Toilets in bar area very old. No seperate shower,cracked basin in our room,curtains not secured to rail when closed.limited breakfast if you don't like a fry.Very poor coffee included in breakfast . Away from pubs Shower did not work Noisy due to wedding. No lounge apart from a couple of easy chairs. We had to wait over an hour for our meal and the off hand attitude did not help. People coming in after us were served first. When our meal did eventually arrive it was very mediocre. We did not bother to wait for a pudding. No afternoon tea served apart from a cup of tea. It seems functions get priority and as a wedding was booked for Saturday our complaint was not taken seriously. Would prefer a room with a walk in shower. Cleanliness of rooms, no hot water, poor management and service, unapologetic owner, rushed event evening (Pembrokeshire Tourism Awards) with tables and drinks taken away by staff. Event meal just adequate. Some things could have been done more discretely and some breakfast staff hospitality training required. Overall although we enjoyed the event evening it was in places frustratingly poor and disappointing for Pembrokeshire in our opinion and totally unexpected at a Tourism event!.
