We were there with our dog and were all made very welcome, It is a lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The location is good for those wishing to see the countryside and those wishing to visit the seaside resorts. Above all the breakfast is something extra special. Lovely location, comfortable, well furnished rooms. Good food choices for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again. Didn't have evening meal here but some of the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked great, will eat here next time.
all reviews » Everything from our arrival to departure was excellent.What a great set of people working together to make it so.The chef deserves a mention as he, with help from a good team no doubt, provided really good food. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Beds comfy also. Decent cooked breakfast but my daughter had scrambled egg and sausage and only got one sausage! Lots of tea & coffee though. Very friendly, polite and helpful staff, really made us welcome. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order, without a long wait and really good quality. Would stay again. The room was comfortable plenty of storage space good bed, bathroom small but adequate. all you could require for a short stay. Food very good. nice atmosphere. helpfulness of the staff when we did not have any hot water. we were offered the use of another room to get showered and given a discount on our rate . very friendly staff who went out of their way for us. bouncy castles for the children. very comfortable room. lovely breakfast. reasonable bar prices. Very friendly staff, room was bigger than we thought it was going to be, nice to open your door to open countryside, easy to find and would go back. Staff were lovely and accommodated a couple of unusual requests for my daughters 21st. The beds were comfy. The rooms were generous and very clean. It has a lovely peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, however it was a very quiet weekend when we stayed, it wasn't fully booked. Friendly staff. Basic rooms were clean and comfortable. Brasserie food was basic pub food but good and wholesome. Room was modern and clean, the pub was pleasant with a nice atmosphere. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Everything. The site of the hotel is good as Burton Agnes is an easy place to use for "exploring" the East coast of Yorkshire. Hotel team is trying to be considerate and friendly and do attract local clientele to support it's activities. Convenient to Bridlington and Driffield with good attractions and the sea nearby. Location suited us. Country views to rear. Good car parking. Staff were friendly but not very competent. Location Breakfast Free wifi. Room near to road so some traffic noise. Wedding on at time of stay so bit noisy and staff busy dealing with that made service little slow. The fact that we booked a table for 6 for the evening meal and was told on the night that we couldn't go into the restaurant as there was a wedding party!! We were showed to the bar!! evidently we went out to eat. Should have been told about this when we booked. There was a wedding on the Saturday night and our room was next to the function room the Disco going on until 12.30. which was not conducive to sleep. Would ring to check if there is a function on before booking. a little more detail with cleaning particularly around windows. did not think much to the wet room, water did not run away quick enough, flood on floor. Nothing. All good. The toilet roll holder was loose on the wall and there should be a socket near the mirror. Only one small grumble - the scrambled eggs were greasy and sad, more like a failed omelette. It wasn't a big enough problem to warrant a complaint. wedding on until midnight. staff somewhat pushed and stressed at breakfast time which did spoil things a little for us, we had to ask for the table to be wiped down which crumbs an bits landed in my lap! and she huffed she was busy! - actually the younger staff were more polite and helpful. No lift. We were not told untill the evening after our arrival that a wedding reception being held at the hotel the next day. We could not access our room after a day walking, as reception area used for greeting guests, when asked the staff if we could go to our room we were ignored. Very noisy music as our room directly above function room. Nothing not to like. All was ok. Free wifi did not reach the room only the Bar and restaraunt. Awkward road access at weekends and peak times. Door opened awkwardly in room 2, but no other dislike. Room 9 door into bathroom ? would be better if it was a sliding door otherwise ok. Nothing. The music from a wedding went on until 1:30am. we did not dislike anything. Actual size of room and bathroom, pictures deceptive! No hot water. to hot in bedroom. loose floor tile. they should offer a price b/b and evening meal. nothing. The outside room next to the loud music until 1ish. Also the bedrooms were on two floors, the bathroom door opened onto the loo (better with door opening into the main room). Were not told there was a wedding on when we booked, thus the very loud music. Extremely uncomfortable bed. Mattress too hard,with no spring. Pillows too soft with no support. Winter weight duvet when weather was warm. (Very little sleep).Bath/shower taps faulty/ broken. Wash basin plug broken.Substitute plug too tight and difficult to remove after being used. Toilet roll fell off holder when used. This was room 5. I wasn't happy that we couldn't use all the facility's as there was a wedding on and I was un aware of this. Original room in an annex which was very cold, were moved into main hotel which was better, Breakfast only average, poached eggs way over cooked. We had a family room for 4 with older children (Adult) the room is far to small along with the bathroom being very tiny. Even the open bedroom up the stairs was Tiny. Sore head from banging it on the sloped roof. Couldn't stay longer than 1 night in that room but would if the family rooms was bigger. We would not recommend staying at the hotel if a wedding ceremony and Disco is booked in at the same time you require a room. The Blue Bell standards have slipped badly since the takeover a year ago!! Still book able but team need sorting, food improving and cleanliness resolved!!!!!!. Food - dinner, poor; breakfast, OK. Rooms - lots of roof angles so couldn't stand at basin. Décor very stark and uncosy. Anticipated courtyard dining closed. In all, it was a huge disappointment compared to expectations. Could have been advised beforehand that there would be a wedding reception on, so access to restaurant facilities would have been limited and loud noise would go on till late.
