The room and its location, beautiful views. Attentive and friendly staff. Lounge, bar and restaurant had lovely ambiance. Open fires were fab and staff were very friendly. Great room and restaurant. Staff are friendly. Ambience and comfort. Traditional and cosy feel of the Hotel.The quality of the breakfast was pretty good. The Inn has a lovely old world charm with a good restuarant and plenty of snug areas to relax. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Location, ambience. very friendly staff. Nice quiet location. The log fires.Not the hotels fault and a coomon problem, but inconsiderate noisy guests returning late to their rooms. The starter with the evening meal was served to us cold but it was soon rectified. Mrs l -"good to have a hair drier but no outlet socket by the dressingtable" Fundamental !!. Uncomfotable bed + poor shower. Noisy. Could hear people in other rooms talking at a normal level.Doors being slammed due to poor fitting, as was the one to our room. charged £3 for half of beer and twin beds pushed together instead of double bed. Room smelt a little damp. The fact that nothing is on the walls anywhere to ask guests to be respectful towards others with regards to noise levels after certain times. The walls in this hotel are too thin to not consider it.

- Take the A591 signposted Kendal & South Lakes.
- Continue to the end of the dual carriageway until you reach a roundabout (approximately 8 miles from the motorway); take the first exit, left, onto the B5284, signposted Crook and Hawkshead via the Ferry.
- The hotel is approximately 4 miles from the roundabout.
