We had a few (tightly budgeted) days to spend in Manchester/Liverpool and so Tramways Hotel and Bolton in general were an ideal choice — almost half the price of hotels in the bigger cities and a very good transport link to both of them. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and couldn't have done more to ensure I had a comfortable stay. The hotel is decorated to a high standard and is spotlessly clean, even the shared bathrooms. Great value for money and lovely place.
all reviews » The one member of staff who looked after us was lovely, attentive and v good with our 6 yr old son. It was v clean and well maintained. If you want budget/basic this fits the bill. Couldn't fault the staff he was lovely!. The staff were really helpful, the added extras, books to read for the children, pool table, were great for the family. It was excellent value for money, and within easy access to Manchester. Friendly and helpful staff. Very reasonable cost. Good location as I was going to The University of Bolton for a degree ceremony. Hotel was handy for town centre.Staff were very helpful,really went out of their way to help. The Price. Not much. Shared toilet had no soap or towels/dryer. Hubby's bed was extremely squeaky. Our room was at the front and we were woken by a v loud motorbike in middle of the night. Car park was full it only had approx 6 places. So we had to park on the street. It stated the room would have a bunk bed and a double bed, but instead there were four single beds, which made the room a bit cramped. I booked a twin bedded room for myself and my daughter but got a room with a double bed and a very small camp bed. It was extremely noisy but not the fault of the hotel just the location. It was also extremely hot. Shared bathroom. Shared toilets, a bit noisy with street traffic but fine with earplugs... Was a little difficult to get consistent temerpature in the shower. Nothing was perfect for my needs. Perhaps too hot, usually not a problem in Bolton. - Area wasn't the nicest - Was quite a hot time of year so we slept with windows open and the noise from the streets was very loud - slept poorly. Area very dodgy !!!! , did not feel very safe at all !!! , not recommended for young family . Not all en suite rooms. no breakfast or any kind of kitchen. No restaurant as decribed No bar No Breakfast In a run down area of bolton booked for two nights only stated one very noisy from locals youths Not reccomentded could become better when fully open. The only thing i Say that it was bad experiense.
