Set in over an acre of gardens, with views over the river Teign Estuary, this Georgian rectory is only a 10-minute drive from the Teignmouth beaches and serves hearty breakfasts.
In the morning, guests can savour a cooked breakfast made using locally sourced produce and free range eggs, and lighter options are also available. There is a restaurant and a pub a 5-minute walk from the property.
All uniquely and tastefully decorated, the bedrooms have large sash windows and some have a free-standing bath. They also all have a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities and some rooms have views of the Teign Estuary.
St Johns Manor is less than 30 minutes’ drive from Exeter, the English Riviera town of Torquay and the countryside of Dartmoor National Park. There is free parking at the property.

What people say
This is a beautiful place to stay. It is immaculate and elegant. We
stayed in a huge room with wonderful views. The décor is tasteful
and it was spotlessly clean and fresh. The owner is extremely warm
and hospitable and went out of her way to make us feel welcome and
to make sure that our stay was really special. We thoroughly enjoyed
our time there and would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to
stay in the area. all reviews »
We loved the warm welcome on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble for the guest house owner Carey - we had fresh milk and water brought to our room every evening and even left us wine glasses and brandy glasses! it was a joy to stay here in such beautiful countryside in such a lovely house. We looked forward to our cooked breakfast every morning which was yummy! we will be going back.
Lovely room with fantastic bathroom and glorious views. Carey is the perfect hostess who opens up her home with genuine warmth and concern for her guests. I do not write reviews lightly but felt I wanted to share this little gem with others.
Beautiful house and grounds, lovely welcome from both Rebecca and Carey. We stayed in the white room which was lovely, clean and had everything we needed. The only thing was the bathroom was out side the room but don't let this put you off.
Really warm welcome from Carey and her family. Peace and quiet, cleanliness, privacy. Easy parking on site. Endless choice of breakfast options. Good recommendation of Cockhaven Manor Pub/Restaurant for evening meals only 5 mins away.
We liked everything the room was immaculate and luxurious as was the bathroom. Louise our host was warm and friendly, the breakfast was excellent. This has been our top stay thus far on our tour around "sunny england".
The place is amazing. We were treated like Royalty and had such a wonderful time. Jenny the owner is lovely too. Will be back soon and can't recommend it enough. Oh, the Breakfast was huge and very tasty!.
Lovely large bedroom, superb bathroom with excellent drench shower. Excellent choice of cereals and fruit at breakfast and delicious fried food cooked to order. Beautiful lounge and grounds.
The beautiful house in a wonderful setting with views over the River Teign. The rooms are large, impressive and memorable. Safe parking, quiet, friendly, clean, comfortable and special.

Fabulously set in the Devon countryside, this immaculately presented B&B boasts manicured grounds, spacious rooms and a great host whom caters for you very well.
The house had a peaceful, friendly atmosphere thanks to the hostess's skills at creating a beautiful, comfortable and welcoming place for her family and guests.
Our room was very spacious and comfortable, with lovely views over the river. The house has a relaxed, smart feel to it and is very clean and well cared for.
Probably the best bed and breakfast experience you can made. Carey and her house is one of the best "hotel" experiences we ever made. Nothing else to say.
Carey is warm and very welcoming. We would definitely consider staying again if in the area, a lovely laid back environment with really good facilities.

St John's Manor was a very relaxing place to stay.
Very peaceful in a delightful setting.
Very special place with a unique feel.
Quiet, comfortable, very welcoming.
The owner is very nice and friendly.
Very friendly owner.
everything.
Nice setting. Clean.
Not a lot - room not as described at time of booking- had booked for 3 nights only stayed for one very uncomfortable night, the room was not en-suite and having to get up in the night to walk across an unlit landing and round the corner to access the loo is not my idea of fun.
Stunning views, lovely garden, fantastic large well appointed room and ensure.... can't fault it.
For us there was nothing!.
Nothing!.
Nothing all was brilliant.
The only thing that could have been improved for us was the absence of more comfortable seating in our room but don't let this put you off enjoying a wonderful experience.
I can not fault this place at all. Well worth the money.
That we did nt stay another night!.
Nothing.
We were unable to access the Internet from our room or the sitting room, despite being given a password.
We stayed in the 'pink room', the bedroom door doesn't fit properly so it feels like you don't have privacy - you can hear everything on the landing/corridor and you wonder who can hear you!!! The hot water ran out very quickly.
Absolutely nothing to dislike!.
Nothing at all to dislike.
size of the cups in are room, needed to be bigger.
Nothing to dislike.
Absolutely nothing!.
Nothing ....
Having to come home.
Nothing!.
The tiled bathroom floor was hazardous when wet and a sign warning of this might be helpful.
Nothing.
Nothing.
Unfortunately only stayed one night.
nothing.
Double bed for two, it was too small, no ac, no fridge or ice, forgot to serve coffee at breakfast, I have to correct change for change for my stay bill.
staff where arrogant all they would say was that there was nothing they could do - 3 half button mushrooms, half a tomato, one sausage and 2 small rashers of bacon does not a hearty breakfast make.
