What people say
Lovely large room with huge bathroom, the freestanding bath was a really nice feature, the only problem being inadequate lighting in the bedroom area - lovely lamps etc but I couldn't see what I was getting out of my case properly!!. Yes, the stairs are a bit of a nightmare (certainly get you puffing), but they wouldn't stop me staying here again. Location is great and a good selection to choose from at breakfast - service was a bit haphazard but the food was really nice. We stayed for 2 night. all reviews »

The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The manageress in particular ensured our stay including dinner in the restaurant was very special as it was our wedding anniversary. Very good city centre location. The breakfast was individually cooked so was very fresh and the standard was very high.
Location was great. Bed was comfortable and you got a top sheet. Quiet hotel although close to town centre. Breakfast was included. My husband and I were given a choice from menu for a cooked breakfast it was superb, we could add the continental if we wanted. Staff was friendly.
The room was clean and comfortable. The shower was great. The room had
everyhing we needed. We had stayed at the Milsom Hotel in Bath a few
years ago and liked it a lot. I chose Bath and The Milsom as a birthday
present for my husband this year. We really enjoyed our stay.
Rate for central bath was very good, especially as cooked breakfast was included. Location was great for the shops and attractions.
Room was warm and comfortable. Cooked breakfast - choice on offer, quality and the fact that it was being cooked to order were all pluses.
Very convenient for transport links and close to the centre of Bath. I had a dual aspect room that was great, although noisy at night due to youngsters in the street who were clearly inebriated. Bathroom good standard; the large bath towels were much appreciated.
Lovely room. Great linen. Loved the shower/bathroom. Breakfast is absolutely excellent in Loch Fyne restaurant. It is in the ideal location for everything. I used park and ride and the stop you get off at is Westgate, very close to the hotel.
Location was good and central. Loch Fyne restaurant was excellent and the staff were very friendly. We also liked the shampoo and shower gel, tea and coffee facilities in the room. Lots of hot water when required. Breakfast was also excellent.
Wonderful location in an amazing town. The hotel was clean and the staff very helpful. One of the young men helped carry our very heavy suitcase all the way to the third floor. Breakfast included was excellent. Very satisfied with our stay.
Clean and comfortable room, toiletries supplied, electric fan in room was much appreciated as very warm due to hot weather, iron and board supplied, good selection of food at breakfast, friendly staff, good location, great restaurant,.
the staff were great, the restaurant food was fantastic, and the spacious bathroom with free standing bath was the icing on the cake. We were even taken to the roof for a view of bath from the roof terrace. A great all round stay!.
Excellent location in the center of Bath next to all the attractions. Breakfast in the Loch Fynn was superb. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, particularly with the luggage--a big plus with all the flights of stairs.
Location superb as very central.
We were upgraded to a spacious room as the room we were booked in to had a window which wouldn't close and so the room was too noisy - staff very helpful.
Cooked breakfast very good.
The bedroom was very nice, with a lovely view of Bath city. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel is in a fantastic location, esp for those who don't want to drive! I would recommend this place for couples.
The bathroom was spacious. The bath-tub was a nice touch. Breakfast was great; poached haddock was delicious as were the kippers.Lovely building on corner of two central streets. Bath itself is beautiful.
Liked the character of the hotel as older building and location for shopping briliant. Above Loch Fyne lovely re meals. Staff friendly. Nice view from bedroom. Breakfast was great. I would stay here again.
Great Hotel with a brilliant breakfast! It was one of the cheapest hotels I found in Bath. For the price you pay, the rooms were fab! Great location, right in the centre of everything!!.
Central location in Bath with lovely architectural features in rooms in a converted Victorian bank building. The Loch Fyne restaurant in the ground floor was enjoyable and convenient.
The hotel was smack in the middle of everything it's a very friendly hotel staff were very professional especially the waiter at breakfast :) its very good value for money.
The hotel was ideally situated in the city centre. The room was good however, without a lift and very steep stairs guest need a reasonable level of fitness to climb them.
Location near centre of Bath great for walking to shops and sights. Staff and breakfast excellent. Rooms situated above and accessed via Loch Fyne fish restaurant.
Friendly and efficient staff. Very comfortable bed and clean bedroom.
Good and well cooked breakfast. I had a really good deal so it was
exceptionally good value.
We stayed in room 1 - which was beautiful.
Building full of character.
Staff delightful.
Eating in Loch Fyne restaurant - fantastic
Brilliantly central location.
Very helpful and welcoming staff. Buzzy restaurant great breakfast.
Comfy bed, clean room, everything worked! Good shower. Beautiful

Our lovely big room, comfortable bed, excellent food etc, location for visiting the sights of Bath -and the staff were really good, friendly and good service.
Fantastic central location perfect with so many of Bath's attractions & fantastic resturants on the doorstep. Lovely room with everything you could want.
The atmosphere of the hotel, the location was great and the breakfast was excellent. I appreciated the help from staff in getting our bags up the stairs.
I liked the breakfast, that was excellent. The room was stylish and comfortable and the bathroom was big. I liked the old fashioned bath.
Very clean & comfortable with friendly staff. Excellent location for exploring the city centre and very good value for money.
The Loch Fyne Restaurant for one evening meal and the service at breakfast was some of the very best we have ever experienced.
location is good. clean, with showering lotion. good friendly staff. the boss is good, tell us to pay when checking out.
Great location, good standard of room, brilliant options for breakfast since it is above Loch Fyne Seafood restaurant.
Room size is comfortable. Breakfast is good. Location is convenient to the attraction spots. Took late check out.
Had an amazing stay at Milsoms. The room and facilities were brilliant and we would definitely stay again.
Nice cosy, comfortable room and very helpful and friendly staff. Great location in the heart of Bath.
Staff were very professional. Restaurant food was delicious and of a
high calibre. Bed was comfy.
The staff were very friendly and very happy to help. The breakfast at
the hotel was really good.
Right in town and handy for all the shops , rooms nice and big , staff very friendly and helpful.
The staff were fantastic and the accommodation was very comfortable width a beautiful breakfast.
Great locaiton. Great restaurant. Breakfast was delicious. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Good central location. Large room and bathroom. Excellent breakfast, attentive waitress.
staff were friendly on arrival, locations was amazing, room was huge and lovely features.
We loved it all will return again next year for our 4 th trip and stay at Milsoms again.
Superb room with a great view. Friendly staff and a superb gourmet breakfast included.
I liked its central location. staff were friendly and breakfast was included.
Excellent value for money
Clean and comfortable rooms
Excellent power shower.
Room good if compact Breakfast superb and staff very friendly. Great value!.
great breakfast included in price
good central location - but quiet.
Central location. Choice of breakfast. Large room and bathroom.
Parking a bit of a pain - difficult to get a space near enough even to drop bags off as on a busy main road. Rooms are a little tatty/shabby but warm and comfortable. Lighting in our bedroom was 'cosy' but you couldn't see to get ready of an evening!!!. the only down side to the hotel there is no allowance for parking which is a shame,.
Three flights of stairs with luggage. The staff were very willing to help.
The rain!!! Ha!!.
The stairs to the room! But will ask for Room 1, 2 or 3 next time and pay the slightly higher rate :).
No indication on website that the hotel is situated above a restaurant. Needs a prominent sign to identity the hotel. Room needed a 3-pin square plug socket close to a mirror for drying hair.
The reception staff are the Loch Fyne staff behind the bar, which is slightly odd, but it doesn't matter! Room was on the third floor and there is no lift, so I was gasping by the top, but there is a chair on every landing!! I asked for a second key to the room, but was told there was only one, which is a problem if you are going out at different times.....
Lack of the lift, stairs were very steep and could be a problem for elderly and less mobile guests. Decor on stairs did not give good impression, also the curtains and the pelmet in the room were very dark. Mordern, brighter colours would be better.
the only thing that could have been better is to know how to find the hotel. It is on the corner of a main street but "Bank" is engraved over the door and it is actually a restaurant. To get to the hotel rooms you have to go through the restaurant and upstairs.
Shame no lift, noisy as central location - thank goodness for earplugs!.
no bubble bath for the bath!.
While the location is excellent in the middle of town, this also means it can be noisy on warm summer nights.
As the rooms are in a listed building there is no double glazing and room 2 is extremely noisy late into the night with people coming out of bars and clubs. Then early in the morning we could hear the recycling lorries and morning traffic. Also the bathroom was not separate but had a dividing wall between it and the bedroom which is not very private (mother and daughter sharing room).
Our bedroom was on the top floor, so we had to walk up lots of stairs, as there appeared to be no lift. This wasn't a major problem for us, but if someone had walking difficulties, I don't know what facilities they would have for this. Also there wasn't many vegetarian options, but they were very kind to adapt the meals to my needs.
Third floor, no lift. To be fair there was no room for a lift.
Top floor had no wi fi. Lots of stairs which wd be no good for older people. Room small and hot. No air com although had a fan. Nice shower but door could do with an upgrade. Limited tv channels. Had trouble getting to hotel as one way systems which didn't know about across central Bat, was dropped off and walked in the end. As the hotel is in a busy area and there is no parking attached this is a bit tricky unless you know the area.
It is slightly noisy as you are staying right in the city centre so request a high room if you can. I did this well in advance! Also, there are no lifts so there is alot of climbing stairs if you are staying that high up. That was the only issue, but it didnt bother us to much!.
Bath in suite lacked privacy as it was enclosed by just a half wall and no doors. This did preserve the beautiful architectural details of the ceiling but was a bit uncomfortable for privacy issues.
The only thing I didn't like was the room we were in was extremely noisy as it was opposite the slug n lettuce wine bar and revolution we took our 4 year old daughter and were kept awake until 439am grrrrrrr :(.
The external noise. Shouting and screaming took place to after 2am which spoilt the stay.
Top floor room OK for us but be aware your room may be 3 floors up.
The decor is very tired. Everything in my room was brown. Bathroom was
clean and everything worked but it was pretty tatty with cracked tiles
and old screw holes filled but not repainted.
Room at top of hotel, very long walk upstaires as no lift(listed
building)! No room sevice, I like breakfast in room! Windows faced
street and noise from students kept me awake. No bath to soak in after
hard day shopping!.
Not sure about the bathroom behind the bed! Also, nothing to do with the hotel, but the aggro on the street outside kept us awake for the two nights until it was over. It might put some people off.
It would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room.
I thought the room wasn't as clean. The blanket and the chairs were dusty.
The stairs and no lift. I had especially asked for bedrooms as low as possible since we were two pensioner couples. The stairs were killing! I understand the problem of the bedroom types but we could not cope again with the climb!.
had some difficulty finding the entrance, it's through the restaurant. Breakfast may be free full English breakfast for the guests, but we didn't know. so only use the buffet.
Fro safety reasons, windows couldn't be fully opened, but they did put a fan in the room to compensate. Lots of stairs, no lift.
As foreigner, we took some time and checked with several people... finally found the hotel entrance. It would help if adding a street number on the door on top of the direction.
All good!.
Room was not as clean as I would have expected for 4 star hotel. Even
with all windows closed street noise was very disturbing. Room cost
seemed steep considering the above. Smell of broken/leaking sewer in
stairwell to hotel and drifted up to rooms.
Our room was one of the smaller rooms and it was very small. The
photo's on the website look better than the actual rooms. We drove
to Bath and we were going to leave the car in the long stay car park
but if you do that you need to go back to the car park by 8am every
morning to pay for your parking, so we parked near a park in Bath which
was free parking but hard to get a space. If we were going again we
would go by train.
Nothing really, rooms abit warm but we were able to switch off the radiators, abit noisey but due to the location not the hotels fault.
The stairs with luggage however I understand the building restrictions.
Nothing. We all really enjoyed our stay.
Horrible smell on staircase from fish restaurant downstairs. Very poor sound insulation in room; noise from outside and also the room above kept us awake much of the night.
Due to the location it was noisy at night, double glazing would have helped. Decor was very old and tired and indesperate need of a revamp. Shame really, let the place down a bit.
We liked everything.
Very narrow and windy stairs to get all the way to the top floor. Not recommended for anyone with mobility issues.
No parking. strong smell of fish on the lower floors and no double glazing, so very noisy due to a couple of bars being opposite.
Bedroom on top floor and no lift.
The noise from the street as no air con so windows open in hot weather.
Staircase a little too back of house feel (Restaurant linen store general) ambience and decoration level could be better.
lots of flights of stairs!
room was a little too cold.
Nothing.
