This 18th-century coaching inn is in the pretty village of Ashley. The family-run inn has modern en suite rooms, free Wi-Fi and a restaurant and bar serving tasty food and traditional English ales. The George Inn has free parking and a quiet location, less than 10 miles (16 km) from Market Harborough, Corby and Kettering. The A6, A47 and A14 are within easy reach. The George was built in 1745 and the property still retains many original features like open fires and wood beams. The en suite rooms are in the old converted stable block.

What people say

This is a proper pub that does good food and is run by a friendly young couple who deserve success. As you enter there is a dining area to left and a bar area to the right and the pub retains an atmosphere that welcomes both drinkers and diners alike. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced and the beer was without fault (Langton's Angler, Oakham JHB and Old Speckled Hen on my visit).
