quiet, very nice and helpful receptionists, comfortable beds, bus/Metro easy to reach, freshly renovated clean room. would stay there again for sure. transfer to airport ~15minutes by taxi. The room was comfortable,the shower was excellent, lovely hot water, good pressure. Enjoyed the art on the corridor walls.trouble-free stay. Very pleasant lady on reception. We would definitely stay here again.
all reviews » Everything was lovely. Simple and clean perfect for a two night break. Availability of all ammeanatise. Nice bed. Everything was great however it was the second time we have stayed at teh hotel and the first time we had to change rooms as it was too hot. this time we didnt request a room change but the temperature was still too high. The reason for the visit was family business. All the staff were very helpful and kind. The location of the hotel was extremely useful.Very friendly staff. Rooms spotlessly clean. Recommended. The location was correct for our needs. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Very quiet at night. Close walk to metro link. Ideal for going to watch a match at Old Trafford. Pub next door very friendly and 2 for 1 meals were great value for money. I thought it was good value for money and would stay there again if in the area.Staff were very helpful and friendly. My TV remote had two flat batteries which i reported to reception Minor probelem. One minor point. The chairs in the room need new bottoms!. While i appreciate the hotel is being decorated, paint smelt in the room. There was also no floor bath mat or hand towels. Paid for breakfast but service was terible as only one staff on , others not turned in, meaning no toast, or lack of milk poor lady serving waas run off her feet. Only minor things such as soap dispenser emptywhole week(we used our own soap).Unable to open/close only window in room.Shower head spraycovered in red mould-one wipe cleared it.had difficulty finding it. Sign needs to be bigger. Mattress. Glad I took the extra pillows.Staff at breakfast very unfriendly, breakfast boring and not very nice cooked breakfast, greasy. Lighting was rather dim for reading.The sign advertising their hotel is not clear. The hotel is behind The Pelican Pub and the sign for the hotel is in green and very light wording. Some of our party drove past the hotel 5 times and for myself I drove past it once. Hotel was ok basic but clean served its purpose,The Pelican pub next door was handy for breakfast and other meals, food was not too bad but some of the staff were not very friendly especially when ordering from the counter got ignored while other people who were after me got served first. think only 2 teabags per room is very poor when both guests only drink tea it means if you have it in the evening then you have nothing to drink in the morning. And a couple of biscuits would be nice too, which you get in most other hotels. Unfortunately at the time of our stay the pub was closed for evening meal. hard to find. The room we were in (35) had a continual tapping noise from presumably pipes or something similar, made sleeping difficult. Also the curtains did not close properly in the centre.Hotel was bng redecorated and the old pelican pub was closed so no availablity for breakfast.This was not stated on the details when booked. There was no full english breakfast available as there was no Chef! Wasonly given a refund of £4 when the breakfasts were worth £7.50 each?. It was extremely basic and the fact that you had to go into a pub for breakfast was not good and the standard of cleanliness in the room in the pub where breakfast was served was awful. They had no record of my booking through booking.com. Luckily they had a room and honored the price i booked online. This could have been a big problem if they had no vacancy. not sure why booking.com never forwarded them the confirmation.No breakfast on bank holiday Monday. You get what you pay for.no breakfast. Freeview TV was advertised as a facility in this Hotel but was not available in any room. The side of the toilet bowl was less then 10mm from the shower wall.not really a hotel,had to eat or drink in pub next door. The hotel is in need of restoration, it is quite old and not very well maintained. However, I did notice that some work is going on so perhaps this is the improve the standard of the hotel. I would rate this a 2-star hotel.only the mix up they had with my booking they cancelled my room for the tuesday night and as i had 4 rooms booked and wanted to amend to 2 they cancelled my full booking, however they did manage to sort this out but all 4 people had to stay in the one room. we were there for the football and give the magnitude of fans travelling we were just pleased to have a room,. Hotel further from Metro than indicated on website, important with heavy bags. Lights were so dim in room that reading impossible and there was a loud, constant noise as of a generator running while main lights were on. No in room phone even to contact the front desk. Stuffy and windows didn't open. Toliet flush knackered. Exits/entrances from hotel all locked save one long walk from room near lobby.

By Public Transport:
The Metro takes 5 minutes to reach central Manchester, Old Trafford, the Manchester Evening News (MEN) Arena and Manchester Central (formerly known as the GMEX centre and Manchester International Conference Centre (MICC)).

By Car (from the North):
- Leave the M60 motorway at junction 7, and follow the A56 towards Altrincham.

By Car (from the South):
- Leave the M6 motorway at junction 19, follow the A556 and continue onto the A56 towards Sale.

Satellite Navigation:
Please note if you use the hotel’s postcode, satellite navigation systems will try to take you round the back of the hotel. Make sure you stay on Manchester Road, the A56, and look for the Pelican Inn. Pull into the Pelican Inn and the Altrincham Lodge Hotel is directly behind.
