Overall, the entire package. Very tidy facilities, exactly what I needed for this trip, and to enjoy the time with my wife. Helpful, sincere and friendly staff in all aspects. While not having all the perks and fluff that new places have, in all reality none of this is really (at least for me) needed, and I knew that in choosing this hotel that they would not be present. But with the above attributes and, to me, the charm of older facilities that are updated where it is needed to meet moder.
all reviews » Really large comfortable bed, good sheets. Spotlessly clean. Nice touch to offer 30 minutes free WIFI each day. Staff very welcoming. One of the best English breakfasts I've ever had - crispy bacon excellent. Excellent evening meal in restaurant. The staff were really lovely they went out of their way to be helpful and cheerful. I really enjoyed being above the De Trafford as the meals and historical environment was fantastic. The Inn was clean spacious and comfortable. The room had everything I needed, very comfortable bed and pillow, super soft sheets, effective fan as weather was very warm. Excellent breakfast,the fresh fruit and granola selection delicious, very attentive staff. Very helpful staff. Very good room amenities. Excellent breakfast. Vegetarian-friendly. We stayed at the de Trafford Arms 53 years ago on our engagement and was thrilled to be staying again although the hotel has changed somewhat. Noisy Couldn't fit 3 in 1 room When we arrived stated we had only booked 1 room when we'd actually booked 2 in March 2013 tried to charge us extra but a kind manager gave us 2nd room at original quoted price. Luckily booking was in my iphone Limited wifi and poor signal Minimal tea coffee in room. Free wi-if for 30 minutes, then pay. Fiddly to register and pay, from an iPad. Kept dropping out before completed. room close to a busy road next time I will ask for a room at the other end of the corridor. I am confused about the constantly changing prices, even when I book in advance I can never be sure that I am paying a "standard" rate. nothing. Shower head was too low for a 6 footer like me. Breakfast sausages weren't cooked through. Gave me terrible "runs" during the wedding reception that evening!. deco 7 reception a bit tired deserves better for location. instructions for increasing the room temperature made no effect. I would have liked a slightly larger TV screen. Prefer proper soap to dispenser. Preferable to have removable shower-head. This makes it easier to get the temperature right before getting under it. Nothing. pavement appeal - looks a little tired, could do with a lick of paint!. The decor is a bit outdated but no big deal. Couldn't match my rate from the first 2 nights for the 3rd night. no wake up call. The room smelt musty I had earplugs in so the road noise didn't bother me but it certainly would some people the evening food was not of a good quality. The breakfast was excelent. The hotel needed a bit a revamp. Broken wall in car park very wobbly cheap tv. Pub closes at 11, so for late check-ins, no drinks possible (only coffee and tea in the room). Bed comes with a very short blanket... Hotel can't help this, but there were brown-outs and a neighboring house had an alarm ringing when the power was off.. Had quite a bad sleep because of this. Breakfast finish at 9am did not have enough time to have a cooked breakfast. Although the staff maintained we had been told at check-in, we were two couples and not one of us was aware of it. At approx 3am we were awoken by a very noisy car was revving in the carpark, when we complained they really weren't interested. bathroom too cramped. No soap in the shower dispenser. Cleaning,dirty toilet No working razor socket Room left unserviced one day Toilet extractor fan not working for 36 hours. traffic noisy room. lift out of order and no offer with luggage which might have been appropriate as I am 84 years old. room television set bracket broken had to be propped up to see the screen. Cold bathroom. Inadequate heating in bedroom. No hot water for shaving or showering.
