The staff were very nice and helpful, the setting and the hotel was very nice were and the room was excellent. Room was beautiful and the surrounding country location amazing even though it is next to the moterway.Best hotel i've stayed at for some time, service was second to none, and the food (Bril). The resturant and bathroom facilities and the bed!. the relaxing and friendly atmosphere.

Very peaceful. although within easy reach of motorway there was a tranquility about the hotel and grounds and the staff were very attententive and efficient. The room was very large and well decorated and the breakfast menu was extensive, although over priced. The whole experience was very good and the staff were very friendly. Nice atmosphere, pleasant staff, well appointed rooms. Leisure facilities. Excellent location off Just off the Motorway. Price was vey fair. And not only was there tea facilities but even an Iron and board!!!!!! Perfect for business but from what I saw good for abreak too. The staff were exceptional. Very helpful and keen to serve. I stay in many hotles and this one proved to have staff prepared to help in any way they could.The refurbished rooms are comfortable and look stylish. We stayed on a room only basis, I thought the breakfast price of £15.95per person was way too expensive. I asked the girl on reception if shewould do a deal of 2 for 1. which I have done in many hotels in pastincluding Radisson, but she declined.I would have used the hotel pool, however I didn't like that it was a long way (including an outside walk) from my room. Also, my bed linen had a hole in it and some green gunk that shouldn't have been there. No wireless internet access in the room. i needed the room from 17.00 till the nex day 17.00. when called them b4 booking they said it wud b ok and will charge an additional 50pounds. they messed it up and i had 2 hav my meeting in the cafe at the hotel. they messed my whole plan. not amused at all. very dissappointed with the out com as they shud hav told me in advance so i cud hav booked in 4 two nights. i did not mind paying extra. as I was stayng for 5 days I asked when I arrived and an additonal two times if the manager could come back to me with regard to a deal for having breakfast and dinner in he hotel, I'm still waiting for him coming back me, needless to say I never had food at te hotel at all, not much to worry about, I know, but if you ask a question you should be given an answer.food was very pricey. Bed too hard.As with my last stay, the toilet seat was not clean, and the sink and bath had leftover bits of toiletries in them!. There were no rates including breakfast.The lunchtime restaurant service was not available however on the day we arrived, just bar snacks, which were limited. The price of the breakfast was expensive. staff did not explain about energy saving lighting system in the room. The TV control was missing asked for replacement still waiting. food not good. Room was difficult to find, quite a walk from the reception area. Signage not clear. Food and drink is expensive. breakfast not included in the price of £65 where all our other friends at the wedding paid £70 including breakfast. There were no "do not disturb" signs available in the bedrooms. I had to get out of bed to answer the door twice on the Sunday morning, due to persistant knocking by a maid, who wanted to know when we were leaving. This spoilt the morning. The check out time was 12:00. The first knocking was at 09:30. The girls on Reception were miserable.Price of room. Was charged £80 room only, plus £15 each for breakfast.If i'd booked direct would of been £69 all in! Felt ripped off.

Travelling information

From the m6 North and South: Leave the m6 at Exit 29 and follow the signs for the m65 Blackburn/Burnley. Leave the m65 at Junction 7 and turn left at the roundabout. At the traffic lights, turn left and the Dunkenhalgh Hotel should be on the left hand side. From Manchester/Liverpool/Leeds: Leave the M62 at Junction 18 and take the M66 to the end of the motorway. Follow the signs for A56 Burnley and you should pick up the signs for the M65. Carry on until you reach the M65 motorway and take the left hand turn onto the motorway signposted Blackburn/Preston. Leave at the next exit (Junction 7) and take a right turn at the roundabout (A6185 Clitheroe). Get into the left hand lane before the traffic lights and turn left at the lights. The Dunkenhalgh Hotel should be on the left hand side.
