arrived shortly after 2pm on the Friday, swiftly checked in by the friendly receptionist, we payed on arrival and were quickly given our key cards told of all the facilities within the hotel. The hotel was busy with christmas parties but we expected it to be and it didn't dampen our moods. Great location off union street and pubs and clubs all down the street. Even though it was busy with the windows and curtains closed we couldn't hear a thing and both slept great on the big comfy beds. Room a.
all reviews » The park inn is modern and very well done I.e décor and layout, being a smoker I liked the section of outdoors within the building which is a great idea saving you from standing out the front. Its in a good position for shopping etc. breakfast was inc and was of fair to good quality, however some items did lack flavour. All staff were very polite. Friendly staff. Excellent location. Was on my own for a part of the time at the hotel and felt very safe. Parking was safe and secure. One minutes from the hotel and was very reasonable at £12 for 24 hours. Not a hotel facility but it was very secure and plenty spaces. Free wifi was a welcome addition at the hotel. Showers are really good. The rooms are nice and big and clean. Has a very nice out door area to sit in. Breakfast was worth the money and the eating area was very clean and moderen. I have no complaints, properly the best hotel I have stayed in for a while and I travel a lot. I like the location, cleanliness of the hotel. The staff were friendly and was able to change my room as demanded. The cleaner was helpful to tidy my room fast when I went for jog in the morning. Id recommend anyone to book directly with hotel and cut out letsbookhotel.com. I liked the spaciousness and airiness. The room was very comfortable with a very nice bathroom and large shower area. Breakfast was very good too. Location was great and the hotel was quiet, no noise during the night. Loved the simplicity but comfort and good value for money. We flew up from Gatwick so we have the added cost of that and not being able to stay with relatives the hotel cost was excellent. Wanted to do anythin else but serve at desk and then on check out after taking money there was no thank you or anything to say he had finished serving us he just carried on faffing about with paperwork - I had to ask if we were done.. Usually no staff problems with hotel in past. Room was smaller than last time but not a major problem. The room itself was nice but its location was not good for me and my 14 year old daughter as it was on the corner overlooking the back door of a pub and a nightclub. As we were there for the weekend it was noisy. Still awake at 2:15 in the morning and woken up at 6 one morning by street cleaner and then the bottle uplift. Debit card was authorised for stay plus extras on arrival. On departure bill was paid in full but pre authorisation was not cancelled. This meant that I had to contact the hotel to have the charge cancelled then had to wait days untill it went through. In fairness the hotel did all it could to speed up the process which then took only a few days instead of the 10 or so originally stated. Nothing!. Nothing. Almost every day something was missing when the room was serviced, for example only one towel instead of two, missing face cloths, no toilet paper. However was immediately corrected when the front desk was informed. Plastic bags lining waste bin were too small and were therefore worse than useless. We did not like anything about the breakfast. If we were to return to the hotel we would no pay for the breakfast. Warning you may have to queue for breakfast but at least this hotel offers a late breakfast sitting, which is clearly very popular. Being woken by the cleaner trying to get into our room at 9am!. No seats at bar. cant think of anything. The beds are a bit hard. Nothing. n/a. No complimentary car park. Full price had to be paid - should be discounted. Smoke alarm - why do all hotels have a red flashing smoke alarm - there is no need for red flashing lights. We had loud screeching sound almost hourly from the pipes in the bathroom. We mentioned this at checkout, receptionist explanation was that it was because it was an end of corridor room but did not apologise for our greatly disturbed sleep. The air conditioning was bit a problematic during my stay in the room. Nothing. Nothing. No car park , totally terrible because we travel up and nearest car park was very expensive and there were a few communication issues due to foreign people working at the Hotel. Parking in parkhouse not included (12 GBP/24hrs) If not, parking on the road side :-(. The service and quality of food coming from the restaurant. Dinner was slow and disappointing and hot breakfast buffet dried up and not very warm. Breakfast room has good selection however there is no set rules about charging for chidren. Did not think the bar snack we had was value for money - a portion of chilli nachos and four small dips for £7.99??.
