We needed a place to stay for one night whilst travelling from the uk through to Khao Sok, further north. Being close to Phuket airport Mai Khao Bungalows fitted the bill perfectly but we did not know exactly what to expect. As it turned out, the bungalow was perfect, Dao (the owner) was extremely helpful and friendly, the location by the beautiful beach is idyllic. There is no major road or tourist shops, massage huts, bars, cash points, etc close to the bungalows, so if that's what you're loo.
all reviews » We stayed in many different hotels and resorts on our trip and chose here for our last night before flying home, and honestly it made the trip. It was the perfect capstone to a great holiday - Stella makes you feel completely at home and is totally one of the coolest people I have ever met. The only thing I regret is not drinking more Sam Song, which was readily available in the awesome minibar. Right near the airpot, for a stopover this is the perfect place, 10/10 friendly and easy going but i. Stella - Hostess institutions are just super friendly! She has prolonged to us free accommodation for up to 18-00. Every morning at breakfast regaled with delicious mango from our own garden. Excellent value for money accommodation! Chic beach in a 3-minute walk from the lodge. Very clean and deserted! If you you are resting without small children this place is perfect for the beach holiday. If you want to have a home style place for leisure - it is great place with privacy. Stella will take care of you and if you just mentioned smth she will help you. She took us to the fish market and gave a grill- so we did crabs, shrimps every day!. Dow I think it was went above and beyond to provide us with the best service even offering to drop us places saying we didn't have to pay but we did. Very nice quiet beach, clean and comfortable bungalows and a very friendly and helpful owner. Really enjoyed my stay there. Location is close to the airport. Friendly staff. Secluded. The kindness of the Lady. Everything was perfect... The restaurant was closed due to high winds and seas during the day; it was the season for it and certainly not their fault! Dao is building a new bar away from the beach which should help in the future. I didn't drink enough Sam Song, but that was my fault. No safe in the bungalow. We a little nervous when went to the beach hiding her passport and money just in a suitcase. soon will be a bar hopefully with reasonable prices. Booking dot com make it sound like it was the bungalows on the beach but there are two bungalows run by different people ( one is her sister ) but it was still very close to the beach and the service we received made this inconsistency very insignificant. Not a direct view of beach, but a close walk.
