At Chiang Mai is a lovely hotel with excellent service. We truly enjoyed our stay in Chiang Mai and if we returned again, we would select this hotel. The location was good and easily accessible to restaurants, night market and exploring the old city. The hotel assisted us with laundry service and that worked out well for a reasonable price. At Chiang Mai Hotel is in an ideal central location, just blocks from the Sunday Night Walking Street Market. Just a minor point: the air condition blows directly onto the bed and I had to turn the fan speed to minimum. We did not have enough time there. A/C was not working as it should be. Nothing. Can't say there was anything negative. Just the fan of the air- condition of our room can not be adjusted to a fixed direction. So the wind always blow directly to the bed. The people around the pool were never approached by members of staff to see if they wanted any refreshments even though it was waiter service. A window in the room would have been appreciated. The smell in my room 404, and my business partner's room 403 was hideous. The smell of sewage seemed to linger from about 7PM to about 9AM everyday. Although the staff did try to have me moved to another room, the two options were another smelly room, or a really loud room next to the road. No window in the bedroom. Only a few staff are on duty each day, you will have to wait to be served. - Breakfast not up to standard - As restaurant, borderline to uneatable. nothing. Poor breakfast, no windows in the living room. Receptionist forgot to call taxi for us and we had to go by tuk-tuk:). Breakfast (desayuno) muy pobre. El agua de la piscina es muy fria. The rooms could be arranged somehow different all window of the room was located in the bathroom which you needed to keep covered with the curtain at all times for obvious reasons and no window to the bedroom just the entrance door very strange for my opinion. The dinning room for breakfast is a little small & it has unpleasant blench smell...maybe it's becoz it's near the pool. Room in old style. Just opposit the street there's a school so it was too noisy. Bit noisy. I was woken up by other guests or staff shouting as they passed my door. Out of 60+ TV programmes only 4 were in English. The Asian breakfast. I'm a westerner. Precooked eggs were cold everyday. - the room was without windows. Shower facilities . Poor water pressure and lack of hot water. Breakfast not up to scratch. No free shuttle to airport and taxi service is non existent . Forced to catch Tuk Tuk to airport. The hotel is over priced compared to other hotels in the area. Will not stay there next time because of room rate. Lack of seating No windows in main room Poor toilet ergonomics. Noise of the traffic. Because it is located on the main road of old town. No windows in room (other than bathroom).
