The owner is very friendly, courteous, and helpful! Nid's Bungalows is off the beaten track, and continues to surprise-- with its many and varied animals--all living peacefully: cats, dogs, chickens and roosters, parakeets and parrots, rabbits and guinea pigs, a HUGE 7-year old pig, and two humongous fish, of an ancient lineage! The bungalows are cozy and clean. The breakfast offers several choices, well prepared. There is also a clean swimming pool, which I didn't use, as it was frequent.

Its nice and quiet set a few blocks from the beach. Nice rooms, staff kind of speaks English but they work very hard to communicate or find someone to help translate. Stayed in the dorm , spotless. Staff v helpful. Good breakfast. Lovely pool. the breakfast the blooming garden. The area outside the gates was not so picturesque. Maybe it is kind of scary when you come to the hostel at night..cuz there have many motobikes and dogs near around. Basic breakfast but that's all we needed (as backpackers). A little noisy at night - music from bars and cockerels crowing. Unmade road for access next to lake - unlit. location is a little walk from the centre but not too long. A bit out of town so was best to get a cheap taxi back at night rather than walk. The animals are friendly but a bit flea ridden. Baggage storage is no good- a cat got in the room and peed or sprayed some of our bags. One staff member can be quite unpleasant. There is literally a barnyard full of animals around the bungalows. Chickens, hens, roosters, you name it they've got it. I didn't appreciate waking up at the crack of dawn to ten roosters right outside my door. I had a better sleep at the full moon party. The bungalows are a short walk from the street, which for me wasn't a problem. I can see why a taxi wouldn't drive the unpaved road in the wet season though. The walk may be a bit intimidating at night for solo travellers as it is unlit and isolated. Just something to be aware of. the bed/mattress the noise at night the cats the distance to the beach/shoppingmarkets.
