Everything!!!! We were treated like family from beginning to end, this
was such a delightful stay. The rooms were beautiful and while the WCs
and bathing facilities were on the hall, with only four rooms per floor,
it simply felt like you were staying I someone's home. Highly
recommend paying the extra for the lakeside view. At first in order to
save some money as we were booking four rooms I had tried to save a bit
by booking some mountain view rooms, which I'm sure would have been
nice, but I. all reviews
Everything! We were treated as family from start to finish. The rooms were spacious and bright with unbelievable views of the city, lake and mountains. The view from the lake view rooms is so breathtakingly beautiful it is worth the extra amount for those rooms. Having shared bathrooms and WC weren't a problem at all as there are only four rooms per floor; it just feels like you are in someone's home. Breakfast was ample, fresh, and delicious. Location was good - close to Madonna del Sasso and the cable car Funicolare. The view from the balcony over the lake and mountains was amazing. and everything was really clean. I had my doubts about having a shared bathroom, but the toilets and the showers were kept so clean that I hardly noticed sharing them with others. The house had a nice homemade feeling to it - eccentric art on the walls, friendly staff and good breakfast buffet.
Our hostess was wonderful--always eager to help us in any way she could. The breakfast is scrumptious, the rooms impeccably clean, the view from our room and from the breakfast room spectacular. And the nearby free parking is a plus, too. Loved our stay there and would definitely go back!.
Mr. Antonio was very friendly and nice, his breakfast was really excelent! Rooms are comfortable, we had the room with two balconys and view on the lake and montains (it was upgraded - we got better room for the same price), it was fantastic sitting at the balcony during storm or raining!.
The staff was amazing! Antonio was so helpful. He gave us great tips on what to do in the city and around the city. When we checked out early in the morning and didn't have time to eat breakfast, Antonio packed us food! He also gave us free tickets for the furnicular.

The rooms were basic but clean. The buffet breakfast was good.
This is not a negative, but a heads up. The Garni Dolce Vita does not
have a lift, and the very best views are on the fifth floor. That along
with it's location on the mountainside might not be good for those
with disabilities. I'm an older woman, not in the best of shape, and
I did just fine.
Maybe it is not comfortable for the location on the top of the town (you have to drive on serpentinas), but it was worth because of the view.
The Internet in our room didn't work at all. No elevators, so if you have big luggage, then be prepared to carry it up the tiny stairs. The hotel is located up in the hills and far from the city center. But you can take the furnicular and it takes about 5 minutes to get to the city center.
the stairs! our room was in the third floor, and without elevator it is quiet difficult for elder poeple with legproplems like me.
Location is amazing for its views, but at the same time it makes it less accessable. Funicular only goes until 10, which limits the options for a nice evening out.
Switserland is hell of expensive and the walk up to the hotel was long but a nice view.
The check in was a problem. We had advised of an evening check in but arrived to find the door locked with a note to ring a mobile number. On ringing it went to answer message in German, which we did not understand. Fortunately a German couple arrived son after and they we able to get through and obtain the codes to release the room keys. It would have been more convenient if the access code to release the key had been provided on the booking confirmation.
Shared bathroom. It would be specified first of booking and the cost is too expensive in respect services offered.
