We had an amazing few days in this hostel! Such nice people who really went out of their way to make us feel at home. Loved the pub! You can even dance on the tables! Loved it. Amazing location! Very friendly and helpful staff, good value for money. Hostess was very friendly and helpful. The landscape is unique. Very near of train station to visit some of the main site attractions.

Fun Bar atmosphere on site. Gorgeous view of canyon walls from the cabins. Self service make us easy! The valley position with the waterfall aroundgive us a perfect view.Basic but clean room; friendly people very helpfull. Location, friendly staff, great price for dorm.The setting in the valley is very beautiful. It is very good value for money for the area. The location a bit outside Lauterbrunnen makes it midway between the main Muhren and Wengen trains and the Schilthorn gondola. Cheap. It is a good starting point for skiing in the region. The kitchen was good equiped. A little far from the railway station. there were no washing maching on site, we have to do the washing in the common facilities.There was a big group hanging out till wee hours of the morning and they were very loud up until like 4am in the morning. Make it clear that it is more a hostel than a hotel. Staff can be unfriendly at times and seemed bothered by basic inquiries like sheets for a bed . but again for the price, this could be overlooked. No breakfast was serveved during the period I stayed. Help your selve kitchen was avalable.We were not made aware of the extra charges for the electricity and hot water. The reception is only open for 1hour in the morning and 2 hours in the evening - this may suit the staff but is very inconvenient for guests. There are no kitchen facilities, a major pain since the closest restaurants are in the village 1 km away, and people staying at a budget hotel can't afford to eat out all the time. If they set up kitchen facilities this would make it a much more friendly place to stay.Noisy, not comfortable, not enough privacy. The staff were very unfriendly and cold. There was a group that was disturbing everyone and making a mess. We could not get much sleep or rest because of them. You have to pay to shower and to use the cooker specially the cooker was expensively. No place to put our skies securely. No ventilation in the the very small room.

Well there are bars and lounges.. or for a truly great experience there's The Stump where we are up for most things and the night time drinking hours are... we will say very flexible!

In the evening we turn the Stump into a traditional Swiss Fondue meeting point, where people from all ends of the world get together to dip some bread!

If you are travelling on a low budget or with your always-hungry children and prefer to cook your own meals we also have a fully-equipped kitchen for all our guests.

We are open all year round so if you would like to hike or ski/board there is always a comfortable bed ready for a sleepy head.

Important information to guests

Please note that the property caters to adults aged 18-35 only. Guests are requested to provide their dates of birth in the special requests box. Please note that bus groups with young guests stay at the hostel regularly. The bar is open until late at night, resulting in a high noise level. Complete peace and quiet cannot be guaranteed during nights. Please note that check-in and check-out are only possible in the designated hours. Arrivals after 22:00 are not possible. The reception is open from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 15:00 to 20:00. Check-in after 20:00 takes place at the bar. Please note that during low season, the front desk is open from 08:00 to 10:30 and from 16:00 to 19:30 and the bar will only be open on specific dates. When you would like to leave before 08:00 in the morning, please arrange check-out the day before. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. This property may host on-site functions and some rooms may be affected by noise.

Room information details

The chalet has an amazing view over the Valley. It sleeps up to 6 people, one double room, two rooms with bunk beds, private bath living/dining area and balcony, ideal for a group of friends or family
Twin rooms have a beautiful view across the valley, with bedding, washbasin and shared shower/restroom down the hall
There are also quad rooms, with two bunk-beds, and our dormitory accommodation sleep up to 30 people.

Travelling information

By train: - Take a train to Lauterbrunnen - Opposite the station there is the local yellow PTT bus stop. Tell the driver to go to "Schützenbach" and he will stop outside the hostel.
