  We spent the night in Vevey the night before heading into the Alpes. It is a lovely town on Lake Geneva and this hotel is a few minutes walk from the trains station and even closer to one of the two docks where it is possible to catch a lake excursion. We had a double room with shared toilet and shower and never had to wait to use either. We had bicycles so it was a nice easy ride to montreux. Room was excellent value for money considering the prices some places were charging. Had a secure place to store our bicycles.

  We loved staying at Guest House Le Charlot. We would recommend paying for the breakfast as it included juice, a hot drink and a variety of breads and croissants - all for 9 chf per person. It would be very difficult to find anything better for the same price. The location is wonderful, not too far from the train station, with a beautiful view of L... what people say » ake Geneva. The bed was large and very comfortable. The bathroom was also nice and big. Great free Wi-fi and the room was serviced each day to replace - Even nicer than the description and photos! Appreciated the provision of kettle, tea/coffee, hair dryer (look in the bathroom cabinet!), fridge, fan. A turn of the handle makes the windows open fully. In the cafe below the rooms we had breakfast of ham, cheese, bread, croissants, jam and drinks. Saw several different staff but all keen to make us feel welcome and comfortable. A relaxing stay in a beautiful area. The circular boat trip and the Vine train are well worth doing.
