This hotel was the best hotel in my whole trip to Switzerland, the room,the staff, the view from my room and every thing was great... I went tosee most of the other hotels that were recomended to me before but Ireally realized that I made the right choice .... setting in the balconyfacing the river and the moutains was more than enough ..... Excellent hotel. This is the second time I've stayed here. The rooms are clean and spacious. I especially liked the afternoon cake and tea that was included in the rate. The breakfast is far better than at most hotels I've stayed at. The hotel reception was extremely helpful and even helped us arrange our day trip.

The hotel is a little lacking in facilities, but there is so much to see in the area that we probably wouldn't have used them anyway! I've seen some comments that the bathrooms are on the small side which is true but it did not affect our enjoyment of the hotel.It was unusually warm in Switzerland when we were there; withoutairconditioning, the hotel provided circulating fans for us and at nightwe were comfortable (We would stay again!) And, hotels in Switzerlandare very expensive, compared to usa. But, Goldey was a good value toExcellent value compared to other hotels we visited in Switzerland. the room is very expensive, possibly because of Europe Cup.Should have more options in Breakfast for veggies also. Breakfast was poor and less than expected. Neither boiled eggs nor sliced vegetables were available. Boiled eggs should be requested separately for 2 Swiss Fr. each. Reception staff claimed when asked about such thing, that Swiss people don't have boiled eggs nor sliced tomatoes and cucumber on their breakfast menus!. we were booked for a room with a lake view and they gave us a room the back. Far from the train station. there is no one helping you to take your bags, also there is no AC in the Room and the window without Net to prevent Insects, also there is no Minibar inside the room. Bathroom was too tiny and under equipped.I did not get a room in high floor as I requested before three months !. Beds were very soft and hence not comfortable, wash rooms were very small/cramped. Also, was quite a distance from both the train stations. very far from the train station, bad brekefast,old and smelly room, worst hotel I've ever lived in.
