Renovated in July 2012, Hotel Sternen Muri is located in the quiet suburb of Muri, 6 km from the centre of Bern. The restaurant has a terrace and serves Swiss and international cuisine and fine wines. The rooms feature a flat-screen cable TV, a laptop-size safe, an electric kettle and a minibar. Some rooms have a balcony. Bathrobes and slippers can be provided free of charge. Guests receive a free mineral water, apple and chocolate on arrival. The Muri Tram Stop is right outside the Sternen Muri Hotel. Guests also benefit from free public transport in Bern.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was clean, comfortable, quiet and stocked with the necessities. The breakfast buffet offered much, hot and cold, and was very satisfying.staff very helpful - clean and big rooms. the desigh of room, it is really individualistic and also quite big.

Could have been air-conditioned - Room was a bit too warm for our liking.Not as close to city centre as expected.No flexible extra bed for young child.Although it appeared otherwise, the internet available was very expensive and not easy to access compared to other hotels. A flat, low, per day fee is expected nowadays with the ease of providing internet.The hotel is a bit out of centre and though there is a tram stop near hotel, you must make one change at Zytglocke to reach the Central Rail Station. The bed was terible both myself and wife ended up with sore backs, it was realy a bad bed .Restaurant closed during stay but hotel advised of that before we arrived and very few alternatives locally unless you took tram into Bern in the evening.The bed was very comfortable but the linen was 'crispy and uncomfortable'. one of the receptionist is not so friendly. The room (224) was very basic, even though I paid for an upgrade. No wall coverings or pictures, plus no carpet did not look very 'design' orientated, just cheap. The bedside lights were basically useless. There was plenty of space for an additional table and chair.too far. A broken glass. Confusing light switches.The room was a bit dirty. There were two situatons were the cleaning people simply entered in my room without knocking.

The chefs create a wide range of delicacies all year round. Together with the special wines from the well-stocked cellar and the attentive staff, dining at the Sternen Muri hotel will be memorable experience. The restaurant will be closed from 18 July until 2 August and from 21 December until 3 January 2010.

Please note that on the day of arrival the booking confirmation is also valid as a public transport ticket (including transfer from Bern Airport).

By Car:
- Drive from Zurich/Basel to Berne via the A1. (Take the A12 when coming from Geneva/Lausanne).
- Near Berne, take the A6 towards Thun, exit at Muri.
- Follow Thunstrasse to the centre of Muri (approx. 1km).
- Once in the centre, you will see the country inn Sternen Muri on your left.

By Plane:
Berne/Belp airport is only about 10 km away from country inn Sternen Muri. A taxi ride to Sternen Muri will be convenient and relatively inexpensive. Coming from Zurich and Geneva airport, there are train connections to Berne every half-hour.

By Train:
After arriving at Berne main station, take tram number 3 or 5 to Casino Square. There you get on the ‘blue tram’ (RBS, line ‘G’) to Muri. The country inn Sternen Muri is located directly behind the tram stop.
