The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel was situated on a nice calm street within easy walking distance to the train station and local amenities. It was like home from home - a wonderful experience. Having stayed in many hotels over the years, Hotel Hellsten is the first hotel that managed to make me feel at home!. We loved hotel Hellsten !! the room was so nice and cosy, it had so much character, we loved the wooden floor and the beautiful furniture. The breakfast was awesome, very complete and so diverse ! (you can even cook waffles yourself !) We had such a wonderful and relaxing time. The hotel is located in a quiet street and is 2 steps away from the metro. I definitely recommend it it's GREAT !!.

It is a hip hotel and it has an open guest area that people canuse freely. room a bit small. rooms might need some slight renovation. only one remark : impossible to obtain an expresso at the breakfast, or a fresh orange juice , why ????. The sauna door couldn't be locked, which was no real problem, but felt weird. I was expecting a full Scandinavian breakfast, but bacon, fried eggs etc. were missing. There was nothing wrong with the breakfast they served, though. Bar was shut but Sundays in Sweden can be like that. It was rather hot and I couldn't find a room heat control. the climate, it was too warm and it was not possible to turn the heating lower. The noise of the wooden ground!!!. Because of an TV - Movie event, the bar wasn't available.room was really tiny. strange check-in said could upgrade me but because I was staying 5 nights they couldn't... surely long stay guests deserve looking after rather than the in/out brigade? And PLEASE, don't itemise every drink in the bar on my bill.. just BAR rather than VODKA goes down better with the accountant!. The room was too small, it's not a 4 stars hotel for me. The bathroom isso small. I was really disapointed about that.

The interior design and furnishings change from room to room. Some rooms feature various antiques, including Swedish farm antiques, while others have a distinctly Asian touch. All rooms have TV and complimentary internet. All rooms have phones - even in the bathrooms. The Karystos stone on the bathroom walls comes from the Greek island Evia and the floors are heated.

Travelling information

Hotel Hellsten is located on Luntmakargatan 68 in the centre of Stockholm. From Arlanda Airport you reach Rex Hotel by taking the Arlanda Express to the Central Station (20 minutes) and from there you will take the subway to the subwaystation Rådmansgatan, which takes about four minutes. The Hotel is just around the corner from there. By car it takes about thirty minutes from the airport.
