  Stayed with my family and had a lovely time. Superb service and opens up to one of the best beach stretchs in Sri Lanka which is safe even for kids to enjoy.   The staff were fantastic friendly and always willing to help, and it is well worth shelling out on a few massages, as they are absolutely incredible and among the best I've had.   Mangrove Villa is a unique getaway from most other places. With only 6-7 rooms, it is private and far away from touristy traps. Situated on the side of the river and home to King Fishers and lazy Water Monitors, I could relax and refresh myself. My favourite place was sitting by the river and watch the river go by..... The staff were very helpful,... what people say » considerate and accommodating, including making special meals suited to my preference. Be prepared to enjoy tasty and healthy traditional Sri Lankan - very quiet and isolated location, a bit of a distance to the nearest village or the beach. Hotel has its own tuktuk though. Very clean, though the non-A/C cottage I rented was rather basic. Very good food, and a very friendly and helpfull owner. An excellent choice for those who look for a quiet and peaceful retreat on the banks of the river Bentota.
