The host Chamith is a nice and friendly person. The pickup he arranged is good, reliable and punctual. The location is very convenient, just next to a supermarket. Everything within walking distance and choice of restaurant around. But this is not the choice for you if you want to stay for several nights and enjoy the beach. The breakfast is adequate and classical. Good hygiene standard. Very helpful staff. Mr. Chamit was friendly and helped us hire a tuk tuk to drive us around the city. My two year old daughter who was a littlre apprehensive of her new surroundings was given balloons and was made comfortable by the friendly Mr. Chamit. A delightful little place with many nooks and crannies to explore for young children.
all reviews » I was very happy with my stay in this hotel. Anyone who does not insist on beach location and would like to experience the "real" Negombo will be satisfied. Extremely helpful and nice couple who are managing the place are very friendly and ready to help anytime. Besides their help feels really sincere and well-meant. Lovely stay!. Actually we stayed there just for 1 night-Before morning flight. Hotel is nice. for this money is very comfortable. Hi speed INTERNET ,strong Wi-Fi signal. And 15 min driving to the airport. just for 500 rupees. Lots of shops and restaurant around. I liked the manager - Chamith and his wife Wasana and their lovely daughter Sadali. They made me feel so welcome and were very kind. It is a lovely old Portugese style house set back from busy Main Street. Really helpful and welcoming staff. Great location to walk to shops. Good airport pick up service. Some films and news in English on satellite tv. Excellent curry for breakfast. very good place to stay in negombo, in the downtown area, has a beautiful garden. The staff is really warm hearted. They can also help you rent a car and organize the trip. Its a lovely family run hotel very close to the airport. They make u feel at home, the owner introduced us the this family. clean and spacious rooms, welcome drink, most friendly and helpful staff during our stay in Sri lanka. Friendly staff. the room is a bit dark, and with mosquito (better bring your anti-mosquito weapons). And lastly is be careful about the slippery carpet on the floor outside the bathroom, I hurt my foot thanks to the carpet. Though the rooms were air conditioned the guest house needs some fresh air. It seemed a little stuffy with almost all windows shut, though this could be as a precaution against mosquitoes. Old style furnuture. No comment. To me for the money it was so perfect and homely. It is an older building and the bathroom could be upgraded, but it was clean, the water was hot. Thin duvets, rooms could do with some modernisation. A/C. nothing. No dinner provided. Darkish room and had single beds pushed together. Lunch and dinner were no easily available on site, but beach restaurants were lkr300 tuktuk ride away. Single beds were pushed together. The mosquito net was quite small for the stacked beds. The first reservation went well, the second at the end of the trip, it was found the hotel had overbooked/sold our room and moved us to an even more basic 'guest house'. Far from a beach.
