-Mr Roshan, the owner was excellent. -Mr Roshan was filling in while his staff was on leave for 2 days. -The place was not far from the Airport the taxi ride was 1500 LKR, approx 15USD. -When we arrived at 0500 we called and he came and opened the locked gate infront of the building, so nice to know that securtiy is present. -Roshan easily and with out hestitation switched our room to a smaller room on arrival when we requested. -As we arrived early am, and we asked for a smaller room, Roshan.
all reviews » Loooovely guesthouse, it made us feel like at home:) Cozy place with interesting shop, friendly and client sensitive receptionist (thank you Nathalan, so sorry, if I am mistaken), who was extremely nice checking us out in 3:30 a.m.(!!!!), packed up breakfast with us, offerred tea, coffee (even breakfast time begins at 7:30 a.m.) and organized transfer to the airport. It was very convenient in that early morning and makes us feel very comfortable out there!. This was our first guesthouse in Sri Lanka and one of the best we had. We had the family room which was large and light with aircon, wifi, no street noise and lacking nothing. Clean, ok shower, good breakfast and location. Yanika was very helpful with nice tuk tuk and driver contacts. The service and room were exceptionally warm and welcoming. Close to shops, restaurant and beach I had a great stay. I was alone and felt fully supported by the staff when I needed anything. The room was great, large, air-conditioned and pretty. I highly recommend Blue Elephant. Excellent value for money, very clean throughout, comfortable room with TV, air con and fan. Nice little bathroom with good shower and plenty of hot water. Good position near restaurants, and short walk or tut tut ride to lively bars and more restaurants. Near airport. Friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast, good location close to restaurants (can recommend rice&curry in coconut family restaurant and in kamlo), clean room, ok bathroom, comfy big bed (double room). Quite close to the airport, clean and spacious room with very friendly staff. Good local restaurants on same street. Clean, cozy, within comparatively easy reach from the airport, perfect for a short stay in between the flights. Really friendly stuff. Guesthaus is very clean with very good price. Nice clean room , very kind personal. very nicely decorated room, clean. the owner and his staff were nice and as i read the guest rooms were clean and the location good. Location to airport, friendliness of the owner (did breakfast at 5am). Near to international airport. Good for transit accommodation. -The drivers had a bit of a hard time finding the place, even thought it is on a popular street, Lewis Place. But we just told them next to Pardise Beach hotel (I believe) and it was easily found. A bit overpriced for what is offered, still worth it though, would stay there again. We stayed there one night during the week before Christmas. As it turns out, during this week at least (maybe on other occasions during the year too) the church, which is located across the street from the guesthouse, turns on the loudspeakers at 5:30 in the morning and starts playing (VERY loudly) local praying music non-stop for about an hour. It would have been very irritating had we not have to wake up early for the flight that morning. Rush place, bad beach. the fact that there was no mini fridge and payment had to be made in cash otherwise there was a charge of 4.8% on the credit card!. The sheets and towels could be better quality, sound proofing. Bathroom was smelling. Inadequate lighting in the room No power utility points for laptop. No safe locker. Breakfast service room for improvement.
