Oasis Villa , excellent is the best way to describe this hotel, large clean rooms and bathroom lovely garden and pool area . Friendly , helpful staff , breakfast whilst typical of most hotels, this one was a step above all the others . Whilst not directly on the beach , there is a walkway across the road. It is quiet and occasionally the train rolls past , which adds to the charm. Oasis is a little outside the hub of Hikkaduwa , which is a blessing. Everything you need is within walking distanc.
all reviews » The Oasis Villa is a nice hotel just across the road from the beautiful beach. It's close to communications, and you can catch the bus to villages near by. The breakfast is served by nice staff and consists of tea or coffee, egg, toast and a plate of fresh fruit. The hotel has a nice pool. The owner of the hotel, (Kingsley), is doing everything to make you feel welcome, and always helps you out if there is anything you need. I would recommend this place, and if I come back I will be happy to st. Situated in a quiet grove across the road from the beach, this truly is an oasis. We got a deluxe room with a huge balcony at coconut level and enjoyed the birds during afternoon rain showers. Staff and breakfasts are awesome. Their arranged trips and tuk-tuk drivers made this a relaxing and fun trip. Don't miss the 'local sites' tour, including lagoon boat ride, and longest reclining Buddha in Asia!. After travelling around for 1 month an excellent place to stay, comfortable and on the luxurious side of budget, a lot better than some of the more expensive places in Sri Lanka, would definately recommend and stay again, good breakfast and a real home from home, new pool is a real plus, in the middle of everything but set back so its really quiet, a real oasis in Hikkaduwa. Brilliant staff and owner. We lived 6 days in Oasis Villa. The hotel is not big, but has everything you need. The rooms are spacious, with minimal furniture. Hot water was always. Cleaning every 2 day. The hotel grounds are well- kept. The pool is nice and clean. For breakfast there was fruit, tea, coffee, eggs, toast with jam. The staff was wonderful! The sea is just across the road. I liked the big room, the big bathroom, the big double bed, the clean swimming pool, the breakfast was ok, much better than in any other hotels i have stayed in Sri Lanka, the almost non existing distance until the ocean and in beach (is just across the road). It has small fridge and A/C which was very good plus mosquitoes net. One of the biggest advantage is that the hotel has its own swimming pool which was always clean and well-maintained. The hotel gives you an opportunity to feel privacy though not lonely. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Location is very good!. Very good location with a pool. In Hikkaduwa you either have noise from the road or the railway or the crashing waves. Oasis Villa was only affected by the railway which wasn't a problem. Short walk to the sea. Everything is good, breakfast is nice with fresh fruits, rooms are clean with a/c and shower with hot water, the beach is 2 minutes to walk, the swimming pool is perfect. Very near to the beach but set far enough back to not hear traffic noise. A/c, balcony, double bed and fridge...what more do you need?! Basically furnished but perfect for our needs. Pool was immaculate and straight across the road is the beach and main surfing point. i think oasis villa is the best value in hikkaduwa. its not on the beach but the service is excellent and the best value foe money. It's a tropical climate, so there are a few bugs. We kept food in fridge provided to avoid ants and no-se-ums. Nothing. Bed linen and towels are old and smell of damp. The train sometimes loud beeps. I did not like that in the morning the kids from the neighborhood were also using the swimming pool and they were going inside dressed. In the morning before we left we wanted to stay one hour in the sun beside the pool and one staff member told us to leave the room at the hour stated in the booking. Rude!. Somewhat difficult to find amongst all the other accommodation on the strip. I really liked the place. May be the noise of railway station and the road, but not critical for sleeping and having a rest there. Nothing. Dining area is not too bad but tables look cheap. Personally hikkaduwa is overrated as I felt unawatuna was better. Luckily I stayed for a night as a stopover which Are a good place to have one. Go to spaghetti and co, about 10 mins walk on your left, when u come out it's great!! Lovely food. No remarks. Mop man... you wait until you experience him. We could hear the noise from the road notwithstanding that this was the only comment I added when booking the room. I believe that there are other rooms on lower floors closer to the pool where there is less roadnoise. Nothing. nothing to complain. Could of had a bigger food menu but i'm only picking. A/C is little old but caused me no trouble. Mosquito's not their fault. Internet did not work most of the time. Bad climate in the room, even with a/c and fan running on max power we could not improve it. No TV.
