The whole experience was so relaxing, the facilities amazing and the people were very attentive and helpful. Incredibly good value for money and well located to do lots of interesting day trips. We went on safari, climbed Sigiriya (get a guide it's definitely worth it) and went to Buddhist temples. Beautiful grounds that ooze tranquility and relaxation. Food was good and very well priced for a luxury hotel. I wouldnt think twice about staying here again.
all reviews » I loved the fact that the staff were incredibly friendly. We arrived early and our room was not ready. They made every effort to ensure it was ready 2 hours prior to usual check in and they even phoned us on our cell phone to let us know it was ready. Helping staff. I had arrived at the hotel early in the morning. They offered me to use the special "waiting lounge" and let me have the room much earlier than the standard check in time. 7 Degrees bar is a great place to relax with a beer. The Thai restaurant is outstanding. The staff were excellent. Other than a bit of flaky paint, the rooms were excellent. Free wifi. They make my stay very comfort , and celebrate our annuveresery with cake wich very delecious and every thing , food buffeit very good ,. Free and fast internet access. Comfortable room with large bed. Tea and coffee making facilities. Welcome drink and cold fresh towel. The environment was nice and relaxing. Also the swimming pool area is ver good. Good food and choice of cocktails. The staff is friendly and always welcome you with a smile. The rooms are well maintained and have a charm to it. Rooms smelled a bit 'stuffy' because of the humidity. When you order room service make sure you douple tell the food not spicy , cause I order food cant eat because very hoot. Expensive breakfast not included in room price. slight delay on check out only one person to carry this out at midnight. Value for money Cleanness of bathroom / phone / remote control. Delay for service. No such thing to be pointed for not liking. The hotel is quite old and rooms are small , not well maintained. Did not appreciate being classified at a 2nd class citizen due to arriving in a tuk tuk from the train station. Instead of being allowed to enter through the lobby, our tuk tuk was sent down to the carpark where we were forced to get out and carry our bags across the car park and up a flight of stairs to reception. there was some errors in the bill, hotel did not charge for transportation which forced me to go back after couple of days to pay again. None. Located rather away from everything. I thing may be a bit cheaper. When i checked out and asked to do a local mobile call for the taxi who was coming to take us to the airport , they asked me to put 500 deposite to make that call. the rooms carpet very bad smell and not good for health and annoying. i hope next visit they change the carpet to marble or barque. No cafeteria around the clock. the view from the room the breakfast was not included in the price the minibar is too expensive. The lack of communication skills by the hotel staff (English) The electronic door keys kept failing. Food. Not much variety for a veggie like me. They still have not returned my money to my master card and its been one week now. I paid by cash. Nothing except noise in night duo to neibors. 1) Disturbance of social functions. Old furniture, VERY small bed (feet were hanging off the end and I'm only 5'3"!). I was at room No.474. While I was at the bath room (while I was shaving) water leaking from top and fall on to my head and shoulder. It was continuing until I checked out. I already informed same to the hose keeping and the front desk. You can not expect it from a star class hotel and you pay on a premium tariff. Checking was taken more than 10minitues where as check out was so quick at the reception Desk.Entering to the room we were quite dissapointed were has confimed for the double room & allocated us a twin room.Beds are not comfortable. There is tea coffee facility but no milk. Overall not worth for the money worth for the money waht you pay. Very far. No value for money. unbelievable behavior of the reception staff. making jokes and trying to cheat us by reducing the amount to be handed out for exchanging USD to local rupees !! the room was smelling terribly, most probably as A/C is not turned on if room is not occupied. bad.
