A classic modernista era family run hotel (it was previously their home). We loved it because there were keys, not key cards, the furniture is all old fashioned but everything was clean and light and original. Original stone floor tiling may not be to everyone's taste and it is basic (no phone in the room, small TV but those for me are plusses) The swimming pool is small but perfect, the breakfasts charming and the staff open and friendly without being too much. The beach is a short walk away.
all reviews » For a two stars it can't be better than this: We had the double room with two queen-sized beds for two with access to the roof. Room was so large it could be a suite. It is decorated with art-noveau style (furniture, floor and bathroom too). The entire hotel is decorated in this style. A treat, really. Location is very good. Train station is 100 or so meters away. And with a short stroll anyone can reach the beaches, 10 to 15 minutes. Breakfast is not overpriced. We'll go there for a second tim. Location excellent, and quiet enough. Lovely garden and exterior. Lovely interior - original features and style, and a bit shabby chic which is worth paying a little more for. Nice and plentiful breakfast. Obviously a noted historical building in Sitges as tour guides were always stopping outside the gates to show it to people. We were allowed to leave our luggage after checking out and to sit in the garden for a couple of hours before leaving. Staff spoke English and were always pleasant and h. The building was originally a house circa 1910, The tile work on the floors and walls is amazing. This is definitely a place that anyone on Downton Abbey (PBS) would have stayed when seeing Spain. Breakfast in the garden by the pool was a plus. The owner is there daily to ensure the service is maintained. Closeness to the Railroad station is a definite plus as well. About a 3 minute walk, and only 10 or so to the beach. The room had very good facilities-safe, tv and fridge. Atmospheric decor. Very good, clean bathroom. Excellent location near a supermarket and the station. Good breakfast efficiently served at terrace by the pool. Lovely restauranr and bar although I only had breakfast there. Really very good value for money as Sitges is not a cheap place. I would stay there again. The Hotel is perfect in every way, I wish I had stayed their years ago. If you are into art deco and antiques as I am it's especialy nice. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, the pool area is wonderful. Later in the season you can enjoy a meal by it. The family are very friendly and remembered me from my previous visits to the restaurant. Very friendly staff, great location in city and short walk to train station (2 minutes) and bus station for the airport (5 minutes). Beautiful building and rooms (actually 2 separate buildings on the same street about 50 meters/yards from each other). Simple but sufficient breakfast. The building is beautiful and full of character. The staff were very kind and extremely helpful when we had to leave early, due to my partner having severe back problems. The weather was cool, as we were out of season but the room heater was very efficient. A beautiful and well maintained Modernista building very well located in Sitges. The room was very simple but very nice, staff were very polite and friendly Room 101 was very nice. All the mod cons without loosing its period charm. A must stay if visiting sitges. Opt for a suite. The building is beautifull in Art Nouveau style with spacious rooms and nice authentic furniture. The architectural nature of the place - beautiful buildings. Wow, tons of beautiful historic character!. Furniture, decoration, ambient, location. Great Location, breakfast, balcony. The building is realy beatiful and the bed has a lot of space. Bkfst in the garden Bathroom. Balcony could have been great but was almost unusable. The restaurant in the evening looks lovely but we were tight for time and they only serve a set menu so there wasn't time to eat there. Such a tiny thing not to like!. Beds squeak. Beware handicapped: There is no lift. Tv set is small. Breakfast could be more variated. (All in all not much of a problem in our case). Floor in our room needed tiles polishing and sealing. I was on the top floor - 51 steps, which kept me in shape! No elevator might be a problem to some. But the room was worth the climb. Some street noise at night. They could have given operating instructions for the safe-I got it wrong but the owner came quite quickly to help. There are no real views but if the hotel had been on the front it would have probably been double the price!. Absolutely nothing!. The only possible downside for older/less-fit travelers with heavy suitcases: no elevator and several flights of narrow stairs to get from the ground floor up to the rooms (rooms spread across 3 floors, none on the ground floor). Would have been an issue for my 70-year-old parents with 2 50-lb/23-kg suitcases and 2 carry-ons if I hadn't been traveling with them. But if you don't mind a few stairs, don't let this deter you. On a wet day there was nowhere comfortable to sit and read. This is possibly just a problem of our age group and the fact that we were out of season. Of Sitges itself, the parking problem is horrendous if you go by car. It's either very, very expensive or way out of the main town. Staff could be a little more friendly and engaging. I found them distracted and not always very polite. They just seemed very laid back, but the place seemed adequately run. A very good but not exceptional value, but compared to other hotels (that lack the character), I recommend the place. the wifi connection is good but only works in the hallway not in the rooms...... Nothing. Would have been nice to have had some hot breakfast food. Stayed in the annexe in a ground floor room which was ok but would have preferred to be in the main hotel and on an upper floor. First impression of my room wasn't "wow" but as I wasn't going to spend much time there it was all I could want. A little expensive for what you get. Nothing. The bed in our room squeaked with every little moove you made. At times - lack of water pressure and/or hot water. Poor wifi signal. The breakfast with a lot of bread and few cheese and ham. We have to climb stairs to get to the room with no help with the baggage. Bed No facilities on balcony. Only 1 sunbed and too dirty to use 3 floors up no lift Balcony doors were broken. The electric shutters worked though.
