We arrived after being at our 1st Spanish wedding which was in Coruna which was a great experience, we were both tired after finding a car park for the car we found the hotel no problem the location was great, once checked in we were only to happy to see the lovely spotless room which was also nice and warm, we had a sleep for an 1 hour before heading out and have to stay the beds and the linen were so comfortable !! We went out and explored although it was a Sunday the streets were full of atm.
all reviews » We stayed at this hotel after walking 200km of the Camino. What a great choice! So close to the Cathedral and very central to shops and restaurants. The hotel has been beautifully revamped and we loved our room and the gorgeous bathroom. Lovely, peaceful hotel right in the centre of the hustle and bustle of Santiago. I would definitely stay there again!. The location was excellent. Staff were fantastic, and nothing was a problem, they were very helpful, namely Lucia and her male colleague. They ensure smooth and efficient running of such a welcoming hotel. A special thank you to both of them. In the center of Santiago best proximity to The Camino events. Very unpretentious exterior that gives entrance to a very tastefully designed and decorated exterior. Great breakfast with many choices. The friendly reception staff when we arrived. A very competent young gentleman who carried up our bags to our room . Comfortable beds and a fantastic location to explore the city. Fittings in the rooms were all excellent, very comfortable bed and an amazing shower. The location was amazing, and the breakfast was quite nice. Loved the original stone walls. I know it a 2* but had to get hairdryer from reception thankfully I noticed no dryer in room prior to needing it, and the soundproof was not great could hear people next door. Not a thing!. Nothing! Yogurt at breakfast might be a good idea. No bar onsite but a very nice bar just across the pathway. We felt the room was very expensive - although it was very nice, there were a few things that you should expect when paying so much. E.g the bathroom door didn't close properly. Although it was advertised that wi-fi was available throughout the hotel it did not work in our room. We had to sit in the foyer. Also, our room on the first floor was incredibly loud - you could hear everything from the room above, and at reception downstairs. Soundproofing not that great between bedrooms but, hey, this is an ancient building that has been modernised. Bedrooms not huge but we (two ladies of a certain age, post Camino) loved it. The room looked smaller in real life compared to the photographs, breakfast was served from 8am (as stated on website) meaning we missed it as we had an early flight. Smallish rooms & bathrooms Zero view from our room No fan or aircon Not all staff friendly - Hello, it is the service industry people... Anything!. Breakfast wasn't so good. The receptionist went away from the reception and left the door closed (aproximately at 11h A.M.), I had to wait almost 10min for someone to open the door. I rung the bell but no one answered. Don't get a second floor room, and especially don't get the one right above the reception area. You hear every word at the reception desk. no hairdryer in the room. Also had been walking the camino and a bath would have been lovely. Nothing. Small rooms.de luxe was nearer to standard room. Super-thick stone walls, but only a thin floor. We could hear everything from the room above! Disturbing! No place to hang and store clothes. Poor breakfast. The room was facing the road and since it did not have air conditioner the noise from the bar across the room and from the street was unbearable; we were not able to sleep that night. Bar open until about 2:30 am!!!!. Getting there is also very difficult. I would recommend it but with specific room requests. Poor breakfast. Things finished before time. Dust on the corners and basebord.
