The hotel was clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed the (free!) wellness, which was just wonderful. The breakfast/dinner buffet was great, with plenty of choice available, and two live cooking stations. The staff was friendly, except for one grumpy man with glasses behind the reception. In our opinion, this hotel would be competitive within the 4 star range, but easily beats the others with 3 stars. Hotel Escorial will be our first choice for future trips to Gran Canaria, and we'll defin.
all reviews » The Restaurant and Bar staff are particularly friendly and genuine. Breakfast and Lunch was very good especially for a three star hotel. The location is central to Playa del Ingles. This hotel also has an excellent roof terrace with a Jacuzzi and a wellness centre with a 'dead sea' pool, great for floating about in. It's only a 3* hotel, but it has outdoor swimming pool, outdoor whirle pools, a roof pool, roof place for naked guests, indoor pool, indoor "dead sea" pool, a good wellness part, a lot of entertainment like bowling, snooker, 20 internet stations etc. Good food, fair prices. I liked the spa/relaxation as well as the location of the hotel.The food was very good as well.We found the staff very helpful and easy to communicate with particularly at reception because they had good english. Have stayed here a few times before and find this hotel very comfortable despite mostly non english speaking. Very friendly atmosphere and staff very professional. We loved the wellness centre, the gym, the food, the closeness to the beach, the quiet garden sunbathing area and the polite friendly staff. In general everything, the food, service, the free welness facilities, the room, the swimmingpool, the entertainment and many more. The staff were on the whole reasonable with a few exceptions. The hotel was a little tired although clean and being redecorated while we were there. The pool and bar areas were good and relaxing. Limited wifi signal in the room, which can be slightly improved by opening the window completely. The hotel could resolve this by investing in some extra routers and/or wifi signal boosters. Some of the rooms look over a motorway, not ideal for ourselves wanting a quiet afternoon siesta. The hotel promised enough parking places. There are not - they get out of the bed in the morning with all tries to park the car --- where?. There was very little to dislike. Not a lot, but on the last day we heard we could have used/visited the facilities of the sister hotel shich would have been nice seeing as we have stayed here before a few times!. The games area (table tennis/bowling/computers) was not air conditioned making it rather uncomfortable after only a short period of playing. No bathroom needs, only a small piece of soap. no problems. the music very loud till late night every night....from the Discotheque down the street just beside the Hotel. Parking. The food was a bland and rarely hot. although the breakfast was OK the meals in the evening were very poor. I would not use this hotel again.
