Central position was superb for bars and restaurants and proximity to Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor and important sites, and only a few minutes walk from the metro at Sol or Sevilla. The rooms were spotlessly clean and modern, evidently very new. The shower was something you would expect to see in a 5 star hotel (although the shower cubicle was perhaps a little small to really appreciate it!). I would never have expected to find a largish flat screen TV, quiet and efficient aircon, fridge, hai.
all reviews » You can't beat the location. And while no hotel costing less than a fortune is totally quiet, I was pleasantly surprised at how relatively peaceful Madrid City Rooms was. The double windows did not block out all of the cacaphony outside, but they did a much better job dampening it than I expected. The man at reception was very friendly, and anyone with even a little Spanish language ability will appreciate his warm personality. Don't be put off by the rooms with their bathrooms down the hall... Fabulus location in the city center, stayed for 2 nights. I did not need to take the metro once. The room was small but had a big comfortable bed. Ac, french balcony, modern shower/ toiletroom, showercream, refrigirator, it had place for my two suitcases to fold up and had 15 cloth hangers, which is a lot for a hotelroom. I saw in the rewiews that people had problems sleeping, I was a bit worried and brought my earplugs, I slept trough the whole night without waking up. Staff was great and very. really comfortable double bed, small fridge in the room, small free bottle-water in fridge, great shower in bathroom (even though bathroom was small, they made taking shower very comfortable), location in the real city center, in the night there were quite noisy outside (because of the location and many bars nearly) BUT it was enough to close window to have silence, really close was 'museo del jamon' = good and cheap breakfast, staff very friendly and helpful. It was really great to come back t. First of all the location is amazing. It's very close to SOL (city center). Also 200-250 m. away from Sevilla metro station. The wi-fi is great. By the way, go to Buscon for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It's very close to the hotel. The taste and the prices are very cool. But Ruben (the receptionist, the owner of the hotel) a young man (20-21 years old) who is responsible for everything, is the best thing in hotel. He is so friendly and helpful. Hope we'll have a boy like him in the future. It's an perfect experience in this Hotel. It is very easy to find it, because it only less than 5 mins walk from SOL to hotel. The room is appropriate decorated and comfortable facilities. Our best suprise is the staff Ruben. He is a sunshine boy who is so nice and helpful. And he is very patient to offer us a lot of help and his English is also very good. If we will go back to Madrid, this hotel is our best choice because of Ruben. Wow - unbelievable value for money. The location was superb, the young guy running the place is so sweet and helpful. I mostly stay in 5 star hotels, and not even many 5 star hotels have a two sets of window doors with a blackout to keep out ALL the noise and light! Amazing. Shower was wonderful as well, 3 different ways of showering you with the water like at a spa. I wasn't expecting air con for the price. Excellent!. We liked everything about this small hotel. It's within 5 minutes walk to Sol, close to shopping area and popular restaurants and bars. The guy at reception, Ruben, is very helpful and speaks excellent English. He let us check in early (10 in the morning) when we arrived. Good facilities in the room. Very clean. And you can leave luggage at the reception till late. Excellent location and value...Reuben (front desk) very welcoming and helpful...Comfortable bedding, freshly upgraded bathrooms...Fridge in room and a nice little Spar market one block away...Lots of great, reasonably priced restaurants within minutes, we enjoyed the City Kebap right up the street for good-food-fast a couple of times. the hotel was simply perfect! clean and renovated rooms with all facilities that are essential during holidays. Moreover, it is located right in the centre of Madrid so within a walking distance could get anywhere. Staff was young,funny and extremely helpful. Nothing. 5 levels of stairs but I didn't have much luggage so it was OK. Nothing. Street noise during the later hours of Paseo, but we could have joined the party and no complaints for the money from us. relatively hard to find because signs are at 6m height! advice : follow adress : it is indicated on the door of nb 06. Some noise from the club opposite (it was a Saturday night) so bring earplugs if you're planning to go to bed before the early hours. No lift can be a problem because its on the 3rd floor, but Ruben will gladly help. Do not book if you have a problem with stairs. Can be a bit noisy on a Sat night due to very central location, but worth it for the convenience!. There is no recreation room but since the rooms itself are quite cool you don't actually need it. Having to haul suitcases up three flights of stairs was a small inconvenience. The stairs were also occasionally dusty given plaster was hauled up it. The hotel was initially difficult to locate (look for small sign about three floors up above doorway and press call button to be let in). The bathroom was stinky and beyond small. I am a small person and the shower was tight. Not a dealbreaker. Very central and therefore a little noisy particularly at the weekend nights. No lift, but no problem. Staff helped with bags. As many people said it could be a bit noisy at night, and the staircase could be difficult for big luggages. But not really a problem for me, and would stay there if visiting again. Can potentially be noisy due to central location. Difficult to unload luggage at front if arriving by car or taxi... Recommend arriving on foot/by train. Narrow stairs with no lift. Would definitely stay again!. I stayed 3 nights there, the last night I stayed there was very noisy. A bar in front of hotel (SAMSARA) was full of people and very noisy. Only one minor thing was the rickety staircase which may be unsuitable for some. Small room is slightly small and there was no discount for car parking. No lift to reception. No elevator. Can be very noisy at night due to nearby night club and eateries. Stairs could be a problem with a lot of luggage but staff are very helpful with this. Nothing!. Not an issue personally but there is no elevator so need to consider that you must carry up your luggage up two flights of stairs. very noisy at night but fine with ear plugs. Room is little beat too small, not enough room if you are bringing a big trunk. You have to take stairs. Stairs may be a problem for some people, but its fairly typical in old cities. Only room was a bit small but it was ok. The 48 stairs and there being no elevator. However Ruben the receptionist was very helpful and even carried our luggage down on day of departure. The entrance is up 2 floors via a narrow stairway. The man at reception helps with the luggage, but the absence of a lift will put off some clients. Still can be a little bit noise but didn't bother me at all. Stairs. But not too many flights and they help you with your bags which is great. Poor WIFI signal from my room. Difficult to find - no sign on the street level - look up - they are placed on the level of the 2nd or 3d floor. Our room was extremely small, not bad, but from photos we expected something bigger :( Note - reception works from 9 a.m. till 11 p.m. Some noise from the street at night.
