The host and her daughter are really kind people; however, their English skills are limited. I felt like I was staying with family. There is WiFi included so that's a big plus. The hostel overlooks a street with a few clubs/bars so it can get noisy at night. Keep in mind there are three shutters that you can close between your room and the noise outside. This helps minimize the sound. Though I suggest ear plugs for any traveling since you never know how thin the walls might be. The hostel is ar.
all reviews » The host was really nice. Even though he can't speak English, he tried to explain everything and helped us to find some good place near by. The room was also quite large and comfortable for two people to stay. I would love to recommend this place to those who want to stay in Madrid!. Apartments are very old with old Furniture, windows but it is something like museum. We stayed for two nights. So we got what we expected. Apartments are in center near Grand Via but it is not noisy there. There are a lot of places where to eat nearby. Location is great (center + beautiful streets near the hostel, many nice/interesting shops, bars), beautiful old house, clean rooms and bathroom. The hostel owners are the absolutely nice people. Really appreciated. It is situated in a beautiful old building and is quite close the center (about 10 minutes of walk to the Plaza del Sol). The owner is very nice and helpul (at least if you speak Spanish). Really good staff there and very helpful. The hostal is great value for young backpackers and the location is nice. Definitely I will go there again if I travel in Madrid again. The location is perfect, the hostal itself is quiet, I would say it's rather like small hotel, exactly what we was looking for. Welcoming place, clean, grest location. Perfect position Friendly and kind staff Family atmosphere Convenient prices. Central location. The noise from the street could bother light sleepers but bring earplugs or play music in your room. Keep in mind the walls are thin so you can hear any loud noises from the neighboring rooms. The heater wasn't working at the night we stayed there. - No air conditioneer, but it was quiet cold when we stayed. - No TV - Room door don’t protect you from the sound outside. A little bit noisy at the night as the bar is just on the opposite site on the street :). You have yo remember that although it is situated very close to a subway station, it takes about 45 minutes to get there from the airport (at least on Saturday). And you should also know that it costs additional 3 euros to reach and leave the airport. There are some bars very close to the hostel which makes it a bit loud during the night, but you should expect that when planning to sleep in the center. Nothing. Noose from street at night. Little room but ok for the price. Very poor facilities Dirty bathroom Noise in the middle of the night kept us awake No heating when 8 degrees outside!!!! Had to ask for extra blankets that were old and worn off! Used soap bars next to sink The crickiest floor I ve ever walked on furniture old and tatty Owners were making sure they would switch off every light after us. Please avoid this place. For the money there are more descent places around this area.
