The original spa dates back to the beginning of the 18th century when the extraordinary medicinal properties of the sulphur-rich waters and springs that surrounded the small village of Carratraca became renowned. The spring waters have been classified and found to contain sulphur, calcium and magnesium and the natural spring flows at 18 degrees Celsius. The antioxidant properties of the waters are ideal for facial and body beauty treatments as well as rejuvenation treatments, and recommended for skin, respiratory, gynaecological, nervous, and rheumatic problems. To complete the holistic healing and relaxing experience, the spa also offers a Turkish Hamam, a terrace with sauna, an indoor and outdoor gym, a swimming pool, a sun terrace and a jacuzzi with spectacular views of the Guadalhorce valley.
