Set in the lively Raval District, next to the MACBA Museum, it is 5 minutes’ walk from Plaça Universitat Square. Decorated with bright colours, all the rooms come with single beds which can be joined together and some have a private bathroom with shower. Free toiletries are also provided. Macba Hostel is surrounded by a wide range of shops and supermarkets. You can find some of the trendiest restaurants and bars of the city in a 5-minute walk. The Ramblas and Boquería Market are 800 metres away and you can walk to Plaça Catalunya Square in about 10 minutes’ walk. El Prat Barcelona Airport is 30 minutes by public transport. Regular buses leave from a bus stop located just 800 metres away.

The Hostal Gat Raval was a fantastic place from which to explore Barcelona. The location and indeed the street Joaqim Costa are excellent. On leaving the Hostal there is a buzz about, cafes, bars and restaurants are easy to find and have an air of cool without being pretentious. The hostal is very clean and welcoming. Our room, the superior, was great as were the staff who helped with anything!.

The hotel isreally poor.Nothing - it is an absolute shambles. The room had no windows, nonatural daylight, it was cramped without any furniture other than a bedand fold-up chair. There were no drawrs, no cupboard, no rug on thefloor, the bedding was basic with no extra blanket/pillows. The showerattachment did not fit the fitting on the wall, there was no shelf inthe bathroom. There were no bedside tables. The location. It's central but then not. on the wrong side of La Rambla. Away from the beach!. Small bathrooms. breakfast. Smoking area. Please move it on the top or not close the room. Unfortunately, the air conditioner in the room did not work properly. It was not really comfortable.It was advertised as breakfast included. It was the meagrest breakfast we have ever had. Luke warm water in a flask and a disgusting muffin in cellophane and fake orange juice. Building is in a very bad state, however it seems that restoration is on going. There were no bathrooms in the room unlike expected, only a sink in the room and shared bathrooms (reasonably clean). There is no breakfast included, unlike expected, only glass of juice and a muffin - there is no restaurant either.The worst thing was the kindergarten right at your windows-a lot of noise in the morning. The rooms on your website do at all ot match the real thing. Reallydisappointing. See above, besides there being no breakfast (which is advertised andpaid for) our room was supposed to be a "Superior" double - I dread tothink what a standard room looks like. The staff would not refund theroom stay and were very unhelpful. You are not able to see the roombefore full payment is due, and even if you didn't like the facilitiesyou'd still have to pay the first night's rate.
