We stayed at the hotel on the last weekend of our honeymoon, I had mentioned it was our honeymoon on the reservation but not upon arrival. They had a Cava (bottle of Catalonia's sparkling wine) with chocolate covered strawberries in our room waiting for us. Also, one afternoon at the terrace there was a couple singing bossa nova, it was perfect: watching the sunset on a roof terrace listening to great music. would definitely go back!.
all reviews » I cannot fault one detail about this hotel. The staff are very friendly and willing to help, wherever required. The rooms are well appointed, extremely comfortable and clean. There's a great roof top bar area with a small plunge pool to cool off. Lastly, the location is fabulous. Only a few minutes walk to La Ramblas. Would not hesitate to stay here again. The staff is very nice. My friend lost her engagement ring. She realized 3 hours after we left the room. We called the hotel and the cleaning lady had found it and left it at the reception! In other hotels, they might have found it and keep it. It's very quiet, yet a very short walk to all the shopping area, bus tour departure etc.. good location, close to the bus stop to the airport, large room, cosmetics and accessories in the bathroom, varied breakfast, friendly and helpful staff at the reception desk, free wireless internet, comfortable bed, good location to explore the city. Room was modern and very comfortable. Free internet was available for guests. Staff very friendly. Hotel was very clean and serviced regularly, close to city centre, shops and tourist buses. There was an unpleasant odor in the bathroom. The shower stall was somewhat moldy and in need of recaulking--something that can be easily addressed. The floor planks were badly scratched and had gaps between them (poor installation or simply in need of repair). The curtains need fixing or replacement and some of the wall paper is coming off the walls. Drinks are very expensive apart from beer. Location is not so good for walking to the centre eg La Ramblas, Catalonia square etc. They could not manage check-in earlier than 2:00 to 2:30 PM. windows in room didnt open, no fresh air. Decor is a bit tired and some repairs needed to tiling in bathroom and the like. Some small works has to be done, floor of balcony not clean, no coffee/tea facilities in room. Lack of dining facilities in the evening. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Cannot fault in any way. no music channel on T.V. Nothing. Rooms at the back are a bit dark - need more light around wardrobe area. a little bit expensive, pool is open during summer season only. Nothing. Wifi weak signal in higher floor rooms around the corner . Doesn't allow to open some apps. Very tight on toilet paper. Rooftop bar very pricey. Room location near the maids locker made it a little noisy in the morning. No coffee making facilities in the room. Service . Towels for the pool had to be picked up at the front desk , which meant waiting in line . Requested an iron from housekeeping which was never delivered. The wifi connection should be faster and more performant!. Very slow check in, the receptionist did not even know where to look for passport expiry date. First room given to us smelled of sewage - we asked for another room, and were given one which was street side (Gran Via is very noisy) and separate beds. Not a good night. We were finally given a good room the second night - all in order except a rusty towel rack. Given the experience in total, I'd stay somewhere else in Barcelona for that price bracket.
