The location was good, in the Eixample district - 10 mins walk from Passieg de Gracia Railway Station, so we took train from airport T.2 - only took 25 mins and costs 3.5 euros each. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful - nothing too much trouble. A very good buffet breakfast was included in price. The basic room was fine for a couple of nights stay, but was quite small and window overlooked small internal courtyard, so not much light. We upgraded to comfort room which was much better.

Breakfast was excellent and this was leisure combined with business. We stayed in this 4 star hotel for leisure and thereafter went to a 5 star hotel where our conference were, but this 4 star hotel was much better than the 5star. Thus don't let the stars confuse you!. Staff - extremely poilte, friendly and helpful. Reception staff great at suggesting restaurants / bus trips and restaurant staff in hotel excellent at breakfast for bringing gluten free bread / rolls/ cake for my daughter who was coeliac. Standard and fit out of the bathrooms excellent. Lovely to have the pool / sun loungers for some relaxation in the morning after breakfast before heading out sightseeing. Welcome drink on arrival was a nice touch. The hotel is clean and in good condition and the rooms are adequate in size and function. The location is excellent: a lot of the places of interest are within walking distance and there is a good deal of public transport to choose from in the nearby stations and stops. The service was friendly and professional and the breakfast was very nice with lots of fruits, meats, cheeses, drinks etc to choose from. We can highly recommend this to anyone. We immediately felt welcome when we came in the door and were offrered a glass of Cava. They helped us arrange a taxi for the group of 8 to the airport. The free champayne upon arrival and free breakfast were very nice. Our room was on the front of the hotel facing a busy road so our sleep was a bit disturbed, we asked for a quieter room which we were given but decided to stay where we were because it was a bigger room. The room was tiny with windows facing windows and a threadbare worn rug on the floor. I guess one shouldn't expect more for 99 euro a night, but it would have been nice. Would have been nice to have a tissue box and washcloth in bathroom. Breakfast was a muddle during the busy period but if you can avoid this time it was excellent. If you are offered parking bay number 6 for your car ask for another one as it is impossible to get into unless you have a very very small vehicle. There is nothing to dislike about this hotel. nothing. Nothing. The noise from the traffic at the Gran Via. The acoustic isolation of the room could be better. Nothing. A minor disappointment was the lack of a kettle in the room. Rubbish bin needs to be replaced. The pool picture is misleading. Its actually really tiny and overlooked by buildings on all sides. The hotel emailed in advance and asked if I wanted anything extra for my wifes birthday and offered cake on arrival but it never showed up. Only slightly disappointing. Swimming pool very small and only acces is through reception and dining/bar area but it is after all a city centre hotel so at least it has this facility. Booked a superior double room but the room contained 2 single beds pushed together. The 2 beds kept sliding apart. Additional charge to avail of the safety box. Rooms not very sound-proof. The room was fairly small in size for a travelling couple. The bathroom door is made of smoked glass, so there's little privacy. Extra charge for towel to swimming pool 3 eur :-(. When we booked we asked for a large double bed and informed them that one of us had a gluten free requirement. We had two single beds in our room and some gluten free bread only appeared for breakfast on the last morning. nothing. You need you rent a ot of extra staff to use the pool, it´s not really included in the price as it may asume when booking. But nice to have a pool and terrace. Also the room safe costs extra. The bed was really too small, and I'm not THAT tall (1,85m, partner being 1,80). Didn't ask to change, it might have been possible, though. That we were only staying for 3 nights !. Nothing. Room a bit small. Having to pay 2 eur/night to use the safe. The safety of guests' items should be in the best interest of the hotel, too.
