Pension is really great. It is constructed inside the building that is surrounded by factories, but inside it's looking amazing. The owner is great person. He was building pension for five years by himself and he did a great job! He waited for us until 3 a.m. in the morning and allowed us to check out at 3 p.m. because of it. He also gave us gifts :) It's 4-5 km from San Sebastian center, but if you have a car, it's really no problem... I will come back here next time!.
all reviews » Never judge a book by it's cover! This hotel is built within an old factory so the outside looks horrible but after taking the industrial lift upstairs you enter into another world. Clean, stylish, contemporary design with all the facilities. We used it as a stop over but you could use it as a base to explore the nearby mountains and coast of San Sabastian. The owner is really helpful and friendly and gave us maps and advice. A clean, friendly and budget-friendly pension just a few minutes drive to San Sebastian and very close to many of the area's cider houses. The owner and his family are so sweet and helpful, too. A great deal for a great price!. Very friendly reception. Pension in an interesting old warehouse accessed from a lift. Very clean. Really spacious bathroom and shower with modern fittings and loads of hot water. Good value for money. We were touring on motorcycles and able to leave them inside. The owner is very motorcycle friendly. Rooms are comfortable and have air-con, and the en-suite was a good size. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The room was perfect for our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. We found the facilities to be very clean and new as well. We really liked the extremely nice treatment of the owner. We enjoyed the room, the breakfast and the fact that it is very close to San Sebastian. The hotel owner was very friendly and welcoming. If you have a car the location is good, about 3 km to Donostia city center. The room is good, clean and spacious. Modern design of hotel and rooms. The room was a studio apartment with microwave, sink etc but no pans or cooking tools just a couple of plates and mugs. Nothing. nothing!. The area is quite industrial / commercial. The hotel is in an old building in an indutrial zone and the access to the floors is by an indutsrial lift. Strange and scary. Nothing. It wasn't easy to find it. Not very pleasant building outside. Surroundings around pension is not nice (factories), pension itself is then situated in such a factory (warehouse), which makes it a bit difficult to find. The washing machine was a problem to work for us. The appearance of the hotel. Before we entered I was sure that hotel either closed either the address is false. From inside it looks quite different though - high-teck and all. Other minor complaints would be about the bad soundproof and poor set of kitchen appliances, which didn't bother us much as we only spent one night in the hotel. the location in an industrial area; the wafer-thin-ness of the walls. workmens lorries in the yard early in the morning, left running for long period. Location due to being in an incustrial area. Staff giving customer key to our room late at night, which we found very frightening to wake up to the noise of someone entering our room. I can't belive there is anything else like this Pension Astigarraga. An ugly industrial zone (carefully hidden in photos). The entrance is an industrial lift, suitable for cars an motos. I can't think what would happen if there's a fire. In the room there's no emergency information.
