A wonderful place to stay! It's very clean, has a beautiful garden and pool and has really nice rooms. The breakfast ist also good and the stuff (Dave) is the best ever! Very friendly and helpful! You'll never regret to stay there more than one night... So: Stay there longer and explore and enjoy the Kruger and this lovely guest house!. Great hospitality! Beautiful location with a fantastic garden and pool. Phalaborwa had enough shops. Dave helps you with everything! Gives good advice on restaurant and safari (Sefapane), we had a wonderful day in Kruger with our ranger Nico!.
all reviews » Sunbird lodge is well located in Phalaborwa and we used it for a stop over to play golf and visit the Amarulla factory. A very efficient and helpfull hosts welcomed us. Rooms efficient and good. A place to recommend. We had a great time at the Sunbirdlodge. It is only a few kilimoters from the Phalaborwa gate and nearby a supermarket and good restaurant. The owners a very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was also very good. The rooms are clean and comfortable and set in lovely gardens. The braai boma is an un expected extra. Our Host Dave was very friendly and helpful and makes one feel very welcome. Secure parking facilities. The owner was actively involved with our well being and went out of his way to help us get information regarding our stay. We were well looked after at meal times and regarded our stay as money well spent. Loved everything about Sunbird. very nive and quiet. after a long drive, I had a relaxing night. the owner is very warm and always willing to assist. breakfast was also excellent!. Being able to walk out onto my own private patio; comfortable bed; friendly interactions with helpful 'staff'; pleasant setting; good breakfast. Excellent! It's a pity that we arrived late and we did not have enough time to enjoy the place! Very close to the Kruger Park Garr. Very nice and helpful owners - tried to please. No DSTV in the room. Very limited coffee/tea facilities; austere bathroom, no 'smellies' (body lotion, bubble bath etc). No hairdrier (?), no phone in room. Nothing. Just breakfast was not specially When I wanted to eat Fruits salad was always a little fruits with a lot of juice. Maybe I was too late to have a breakfast ? There was no freshly baked things. Muffin,scone or bread etc It's pity !. nothing. 1. We did not use the airco but the outside unit of the next room was very noisy and lept us awake the ebola night. 2. Pitbull dog from the owner running in garden and chasing me was not a funny experience. I had to hide in my car till the owner came to get the dog. Dinner not 3 star.

From Airport: - Turn left out of the airport onto President Steyn Street; - At the junction, turn left towards the traffic lights opposite Spar; - Straight over at the traffic lights and take the 1st right into Essenhout Street; - Take 2nd left into Boekenhout Street; - Take 3rd right into Sealene Street; - Take 1st left onto Blackwood Street, the roads forks onto 2, take the left-hand fork and that brings straight to the reception. From the Kruger Park: - Turn left at the traffic lights at Spar onto Koper Street; - Take the 1st right into Essenhout Street; - Take 2nd left into Boekenhout Street; - Take 3rd right into Sealene Street; - Take 1st left onto Blackwood Street, the roads forks onto 2, take the left-hand fork and that brings straight to the reception. From Tzaneen / Lydenburg R71 / R40: - Straight over the first four-way stop upon entering town, carry on along Hendrik van Eck - At the 1st set of traffic lights, turn right and go past Buffalo’s Pub and Grill; - At the stop street turn left into Palm Street; - At the traffic lights at Caltex garage, turn left into Selati Street; - Carry on straight down Selati Street until the four-way stop at the police station; - Go straight over the four-way stop and take the 1st left into Aalwyn Street; - Go right to the bottom of Aalwayn and the hotel is on the right hand side.
