The hotel itself was very attractive when first entering reception so gave a good impression. The gardens were immaculate and the pool was very clean. All the staff where very friendly and helpful especially in the terrace area and dining area. Always a smile.Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The area of mokopane and polokwane we managed to see was very beautiful with all the mountains in the background.people were very friendly wherever we went.
all reviews » I enjoyed the suite I stayed in. Very relaxing in its extended facility namely the relaxation lounge and specially its spaciousness and the patio for endless fresh air. Staff are very friendly and professional. The rooms are spacious and clean with very decent bathrooms. Good working air-conditioners. It was very good value for 400 ZAR for 2. The outdoor area is nice. There is a disco, which was a good fun. All good. Food and service worthy of 5*. Great value for money. Will stay again . At some stage the water supply dwindled in the middle of my showering. Very unpleasant. none. No Sat. TV with international news. Restricted viewing for a overseas traveller. No Fridge in my room. The position of the room I was in. I couldn't make the room warm, not sure if the aircon was working.I would prefer to arrive next time and find the room warm. wild animals. monkeys. Nothing by now. None. Breakfast a little bit expensive!!. no hot water to have A bath or shower. Shower was blocked and the water was not running through in room 14. bathroom and over all cleanliness of the room and bathroom. Bathrooms are past their sell by date, and need a revamp. Room was cold even using the air-con. The room STANK FROM CIGARETTE SMOKE. Supposed to be a non smoking room. the security setup is useless. the security gate stays open 24hrs a day, the reason? people arrives through the whole night looking for place to stay, according to your manager. Why not close the security gate and control entrance by means of a buzzer. 2. The food, steak, was prepared to be unateble. Rather tell a customer if the chef did not turn up. Attend to these little problems and i would surely recommend. The only things I can winge about is it would be nice if they had smoking rooms, as well as baths instead of showers. As a woman travelling on business all over Africa I really would appreciate a bath. We booked, expecting a hotel room, only to find the hotel is actually 'hostel-like' units and does not meet Protea hotel standards.
