Our hosts were delightful and very welcoming. Our room was more than expected and the views down to the beach were spectacular. We deliberately visited in winter (because we're South Africans and Dubai's 365 days of sunshine is boring) when it rained a bit so we didn't make use of the braai or the balcony that much but our room was cozy and perfect for romance. The breakfast was delicious and the overall atmosphere was tranquil and relaxing. In fact, we were so taken with the place we were hopi.
all reviews Jose and other staff were very friendly and helpful. He even booked our shark diving tour when our operator let us down. Breakfast was lovely, room big and heaters a thoughtful touch as chilly at night. Shower was huge and plenty of hot water. This isnt the cheapest guesthouse in the area, but certainly has the service. I would highly recommend. Jose was a wonderful host! Our room was clean, warm and inviting. Upon our arrival we learned that we had been moved to a larger room than what we had booked. The room had kitchen facilities, a beautiful walkout balcony with a view of the ocean and a king size bed. Breakfast was amazing! Thanks to the staff for their great hospitality!. I enjoyed everything about my stay, the privacy, the sea view, the quietness, especially the special preference my husband and I received with our breakfast, we are muslim, Jose made sure we had a hallal breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and could easily have stayed longer. The room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The kitchenette was well-equipped. Also an ideal spot for avid bird-watchers. Very helpful and friendly staff. Very clean rooms .EXcellent breakfasts .Safe quiet area with good access to the costal path walks and beach . Lovely views to the sea and mountains . Allowed us to check in early to a spacious room with a beautiful view from the balcony - amazing value for money. Close to the stunning cliff walk - a must do. Great breakfast too!. Good location, not far from the coast. October was very good moment to see the whales, saw so many. We liked the art in the hotel and the breakfast was very creative and tasty. The ground floor self-catering apartment was nice and spacious and was fully equipped. Very quiet and peaceful. Good value for money. The manageress and staff were excellent and the suite was comfortable. Friendly staff. Very nice breakfast. Everything!. We had a lovely stay at this clean and comfortable B&B. Location was ok. Location wasnt the easiest to find but once there, no problems. The single beds combined making a king bed, no shower door in the shower- entire bathroom floor got wet. I did not dislike anything , however others might wish to be more closer to bars and restaurants but again there are no problems with arranging taxis which are very reasonable . A little bit further out from the town than we first thought - short drive away but took us almost 3 hours to walk!. You're expected to ask for everything, and not knowing this - the breakfasts were extremely poor, and lacked imagination (we didn't even eat there on our last day). No hot water for a shower on the last day, slippery and dangerous shower floor, old TV with no DSTV, and a palm tree that cuts out half your view from the balcony!. the owner recommended restaurants nearby whereas we liked the ones in the city centre much better... nothing. Nothing. A car is a necessity. Chocolate on pillow or something cute like that was missing. The room was not very big. Pillows not very comfortable. Not much atmosphere,food only average, place looked a little tired.

Travelling information

From the Cape Town International Airport: 1. Follow the N2 over Sir Lowry's Pass, through Grabouw and over Houwhoek Pass. As you come down the pass take the slip-way to your left off the N2 towards Hermanus. Carry on with this road till you get to Hermanus town. 2. Go through a traffic circle till you get to a robot where you can only turn left. You will still be on Main Road direction Gansbaai. Go through a traffic circle and then through a much bigger traffic circle still going direction Gansbaai. 3. After the bigger traffic circle you need to turn left into 4th Avenue just before the Seven Eleven on Main Road. Turn right at the next road which will be 5th Street and we will be on your left.
