I loved the slipper bath and felt it added a real sense of luxury to the bathroom. I spent a good 30 mins in it, unwinding and reading my book. I liked the privacy of the apartment and that staff did not hover but were there when you needed them. Very central, within walking distance of the main street, restaurants and attractions. Staff were very helpful with good suggestions of places to go. Fabulous!.

Simple but good place to stay, very close to the main road. we were upgraded to a better room which was a lovely surprise. The staff were very helpful. I would definately stay here again. Nothing. Wifi wasn't working well but they said IT guy was supposed to come to fix it. This visit we were in room 1, unfortunately didn't sleep well due to the outside light shinning into the room! Need to put up a blackout blind at the door if possible!. Not much to dislike!. N/A. No privacy when room doors open. Doors open onto noisy street corner,Can't do anything about this I think. The bathroom was quite cold, and the floor was cold generally. Carpeting or under floor heating would have been great. You couldnt shower without flooding the entire bathroom. No bar fridge in the bedrooms and no hangers in the cupboards which they did rectify once notified.

Directions from Cape Town International Airport: • Keep to the left hand lane as you exit the airport. • Immediately past the petrol station take the Borcherd’s Quarry exit. • This road curves sharply to the left. • At traffic lights (after ± 1.5km) there is a major intersection. Turn right onto M10. • Continue for approximately 2km to the next major junction. Turn right onto M12 (signposted for Stellenbosch & R300). • This road continues for about 5km until you reach a junction with the R300. Turn left onto the on-ramp. • No need to turn off this road, as after approximately 10km the road turns to the right and joins the N1. • Continue on the N1 and take exit 47 to Stellenbosch/Klapmuts/Wellington. • At the end of the off-ramp, turn right on to the R44. • After ± 700m you reach a 4-way stop. Go straight across. • Approximately 300m on, turn left to Franschhoek (R45). • After approximately 10km you will come to a T-junction. • Turn right at T-junction (R45). • This road leads straight into Franschhoek (± 20km) and then becomes the main road of the village. Upon entering Franschhoek • The main road (Huguenot Rd) passes straight through the village and ends at the Huguenot monument. • Turn left at the Post Office into Reservoir Street East • Le Ballon Rouge is the 3rd building on the right. • Parking is available in front of the guesthouse and in a parking area at the back of the guesthouse.
