We simply loved this place, everything about it. Great rooms, they smell so nice and fresh :-) nice facilities, beautiful garden. Cathy and John are excellent hosts and made our stay very enjoyable. Gave us great restaurant tips and we could just listen to John's storries all day long. We didn't want to leave. Btw, breakfast is a must. We will for sure come back, thank you for everything.
all reviews John and Cathy were fantastic hosts who were always available and offered superb recommendations when our plans were abruptly on hold. Location is superb, but would advise hiring a car to keep things easy, breakfasts and johns stories are worth the cash alone. Overall great value, in a great location and we can't wait to return. Jo and I felt at home from the off thanks to John and Cathy. The property is outstanding! The location is great - away from the noisy, crowded, overly commercial center of Umhlanga, but just a quick 15 minute walk to town and the beach. Most importantly, Cathy and John are incredible hosts, who go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome. I enjoyed every minute there!. Cathy and John were wonderful hosts and the room we had was very nice. Enjoyed relaxing in the bar upstairs and watching several episodes of "Game of Thrones", as they graciously allowed us to control the DVD player. Breakfast was fabulous! Highly recommended. Absolutely fantastic place to stay! Cathy and John are wonderfull hosts, the place is spotless, fantastic beds and great service! Nice bar and lounge area with sea view balcony upstairs and only a short drive to the beach. Would recommend this to everyone. John and Cathy made us very welcome and helped us organize a trip, nothing was too much for them. The breakfast was superb. We would stay there again if we came to Durban for a holiday. We found the hosts superbly friendly and accomodating, the rooms spacious and up market and overall a very pleasant experience. Will definitely go there again. We had a fully cooked breakfast at 6:30 because our flight was at 8:00. No problem!. Rooms comfortable and the place cosy. Breakfast excellent and staff very helpful. The owners charming. The peacefull gardens and personal interactions with the owners. - warm welcome - excellent breakfast - great bed / comfort. Everything especially the warm hosts!. Warm and frriendly. Nothing!. Quite a walk into town but taxis were available. Ideally you need to drive to the beach, but this was expected.
