From the minute we arrived the service was impecable our car was parked no fuss, we were early for the book in but were offered a complimentary beverage whilst waiting and the pleasant surprise we were upgraded to a larger famiy room with the best mountain view ever the convenience of being connected to the shopping mall is also a plus the room service was quick and the staff friendly the room amenities were great and the reataurants were out of this world....then breakfast came the buffet se.
all reviews We were overnighting prior to a long flight the next day to Dubai/Kabul. This could not have been a nicer stay. Car parked, check in seamless, room very nice. Our view was an ocean view which was great. The convenience to the waterfront activities and shopping was excellent. Late night coffee and cake in front of the fireplace was superb. The breakfast buffet was possibly the best we have had, just fabulous. Staff were all on their game, excellent service. The location was great, right on the waterfront with a wide choice of places to eat and great views facing inland toward Table Mountain. The only thing i can think of is that the shower did not keep at a constant temperature. Dinner menu needs improving and qaulity not that good. pushy staff after a highly professional reception check in, not really matching the quality of the hotel - they should learn and accept the phrase - no thank you. Slightly aged decor in the bathroom on the flooring and corners - again not reflecting the values of this great property. None. The swimming pool was under construction , we should be notified before booking. Service in the so called high class fine dining restaurant and evening dinner not good. Maintenance and construction works in and around hotel. I always had to remind the hotel about my newspapers before they were delivered to me. We find it unacceptable that a hotel of your calibre only has a smoking bar. There are a number of both international and local guests who dont smoke and should have a bar with excellent facilities available to them. There is nothing worse than being forced to sit in reception to have a drink or go to one of the restaurants in the shopping complex. Mould in the air conditioning vent- bad smell. TV remote wasn't working. Not what we expected from a hotel that had hosted Barack Obama only a month before. Arrogant check in staff, worse check out staff.
