I really liked the room, it was a good size very clean, and a great bathroom. The hotel location was good too an easy walk into the old town. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Use the reception staff to book a hotel to pay about 1/3 of the price the local taxi guys will try and charge you. Brand new hotel,so clean and 10 mins walk to old town. Wifi superfast in all areas of hotel,got 28gb connection speed in room!! Breakfast buffet awesome with great selection of food. Rooms very nice and spotless 20 euro taxi ride from airport,would stay here again,bargain for price.
all reviews » Very modern and clean hotel, perhaps a little lacking in character. Everything functioned well, staff spoke good English and helped with any questions. Parking place very good, next to the main entrance but still secure. Good breakfast, good location close to the old town. Hotel is new, clean and staff were good. I do not have a compliance and everything were right. Price were good and includes breakfast and wifi Internet, flat tv, bed was comfortable, room quiet, parking is safety and location is nearby to public transport stop. Hotel has very friendly staff. The parking possibility is perfect, because it is a closed garage under the ground, and you can leave your car there for 24 hours for 8 euros only. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Anyhow, staff gave as complementary drink in hotel bar as excuse. Rooms were stylish and a good size ("comfort double") but the beds were poor since they were moderate quality foam mattresses and made us sweat, resulting in not sleeping well We had to initially change rooms since our safe did not work but that was a minor kink. We were told it was a "quiet" room but the garbage men came by every night at 3:00 am and woike us up. The website showed two sitting chairs plus a desk chair but we only had one sitting chair. - Breakfast was not accordingly to a 4 star hotel... At most 2**+. The bathtube is appropriate for having bath but for showers is terrible: is very slippery, has a relative high slope and the have the tap placed on one side. After my wife almost brokes her limbs and head we used one of their towels to avoid slipping in the tube while having showers. would have like coffee machine for break fast for lattes and cappacinos. as coffee was not very nice. Get a map of the location before you arrive. There are no maps or anyone to give directions at the train station. It is a bit of a walk to the old city and the train station from the hotel. Difficult to find. Shabby, run-down surroundings. The only minor thing is that 10am is a rather early check-out time. The breakfast could vary a bit more, sausages and eggs everyday (the eggs were tasty, though). maybe a little bit too warm, but this might be a plus in January. Check in took a long time and breakfast lacked variety in the type of bread.. Nothing. Everything was O.K. Nothing it was all brilliant. The Internet location stated that the hotel was close to the city which is correct but "close" needs to be defined more clearly. The outside signage is poor to find the hotel. Also at my age having a shower kneeling in the bathroom in the morning is unacceptable. Plus water sprays over the floor. I was on the 5th Floor and for the WiFi connect iI had to go into the corridor. Best Regards. Really bland interior - not a single picture in the corridor or room. The hotel feels very much like a business centre, which is fine but doesn't put one in a holiday mood. Bathroom had some shortcomings - no proper shower - have to climb into a slippery bath with no grab rail, and no shower curtain or screen either. Wifi reception in our room was marginal Beware rip-off taxis at the train station 17 euros for a 3km journey is outrageous. access not very easy, the hotel is 'hidden' behind the older building, not visible from the street. though its a convenient walk into the city centre, the location of hotel saffron feels a a little like you are in a car park. would have liked tea/coffee making facility in room. Payment in advance and only unimportant details, e.g. traffic jam around lifts in the morning. Breakfast was buffet style.Adequate, but could be more imaginative to compliment the rest of this very good hotel. The staff were good, not exceptional though. The breakfast was ok, could have been a bit better. Rooms with bathtub are missing shower curtain or glass protection. everything was just great, if I ever need a hotel in Bratislava again, I will definitely book this one. Staff at breakfast appeared to mind more about themselves rather then taking care of the guests. A few more EN channels on TV would be welcome. The walk into the centre is rather grotty. No shower(curtain) in the bathroom. About 15 mins walk from Old town. Fitness is preety much useless. There is one treadmill that I would not use at home, one bike that looked so fragile I was afraid to use it. Sauna didn't work.
