It is a very worthy hotel. Nice, clean, neat, 5 min by feet to the nearest metro station. Breakfast is good (coffee, tea,milk, hot and cold starters, english toasts, juices). In the bathroom you find all the facilities you may need (shaving and vanity kits, comb, tooth brush and paste, shampoo and conditioner, hairdryer, fresh towels). everything was very clean n facilities were very new. good location - just across from metro station. an easy 15-20 mins walk to nevsky prospect past dostoevskaya metro, which is a nice place to visit in itself for the dostoevsky museum etc. great breakfast included ! good service.

Actually the reception and the entrance are not at the ground floor. And you need to enter an iron gate to enter it. Too pricey for what it offers. letsbookhotel.com photos don't represent reality, but fiction... It's clean and nice but not as it appears in photos. No elevator. Very small breakfast room. Warning: as another reviewer pointed "...it can be difficult to find. Main entrance located behind the electric gate. Bell on the left hand side." DON'T look for a "The State Councellor" sign. Look for "Статский Советник"... it might save you a lot of time and frustration!. Breakfast. We couldn't sleep at night because during our two nights' in the hotel, rained during night and the noise of the rain hitting the edge of window outside the room kept us awake all nights, it was so bad that I asked the girl to come in the room and check it for herself which she did and even tried to put some towel on the edge of the window but it didn't work. But at least she returned one nights rate to us.
