This hotel has its own special historical charm. I loved the high ceilings and hard wood floors in my room, which opened to an excellent view of the square and medieval church across the way. The hotel provides a comfortable place to work in your room and an excellent proximity to events happening in the city. The breakfast every morning provides a lot of variety and the coffee was always fresh. The staff are very attentive and friendly and made me feel welcome.
all reviews » The hotel is very clean, has large rooms and huge bathrooms. It is just in the center of the town, 3 min to Matei Corvin House and pedestrian area of the old city. Breakfast is not great but is ok compared with what you get usually in romanian hotels for the same money. Good buffet breakfast, comfortable bed, fast wifi internet that works everywhere without password, city center location, very close to the Ursus "brewery" pub. Friendly and helpful staff. 10 mins from airport. Excellent bar/restaurant attached. Brilliant location for a visit to the lovely City of Cluj. The location. Some people complain that if you leave the windows open at night then the busy city center is too noisy. Well, it is an active place, and the streets can be a little noisy on the weekends, like anywhere else centrally located, but this was no problem for me, and I was able to sleep even with the windows open on one occasion. If you are noise sensitive, bring ear plugs. I did, but never needed to use them. Old and shabby furniture. The rooms have no air conditioning and this is a problem especially because the hotel is just between two very crowded streets, with a lot of cars and busses so is very noisy with the windows open. Staff warned me about having to run the shower for 5-10 minutes before getting hot water, but I didn't have any problems. On the day we stayed there was a very noisy conference until late in the evening - not good if you have a very early flight the next morning. The absence of something hot to drink during the day. Ambulances horning. No coffee-making facilities. No parking facility (ad misleading) Internet connection unreliable (it went on and off, poor signal). They didn't have restaurant.It is a big problem for the visitors. bar running short of drinks but friendly staff trying to help. Lack of air-con Very noisy from traffic. no air coditioning. Veeery noisy because of thin windows on main street. The interior of the room is oldish. Very small TV. Slow internet connection. Especially in the evening you have to wait several minutes until you get some hot water. No elevator, but there are just two storeys. We arrived at 3 am and I think that the lady at the reception was drunk. We had a hard time to get along with her. Although we checked the boxes for double bad and non smoking room, we received the opposite. missing hot water.
