This boutique hotel is on a quiet street on Granary Island, only 3 minutes walk to the Green Gate and the centre of Gdansk, and also the Motlawa river embankment with masses of restaurants up to, and beyond, the world famous Crane. The room was excellent, as was the breakfast. The female staff were all superb and most helpful. There are also 3 small supermarkets down the steet. &Quot;In Your Pocket" says the hotel gets its name from the statue of a lugubrious Scotsman playing the bagpipes. .
all reviews » Excellent location right near the heart of the old town. Town itself is great. Clean spacious rooms. We had our adult children with us and the room had two bathrooms. Breakfast was fantastic, a huge spread of food, buffet style, the best we have seen anywhere. Staff were wonderful. Steps to the beautiful old town, wonderful views of the famous Crane, quiet location, very pleasant and helpful staff, very clean, beds really comfortable, great breakfast, great value for a weekend, we will visit again and highly recommend this hotel. An exellent surprisingly quiet location in the old part of Gdansk. Helpfull, kind and pleasant stuff (Natalia). Very clean and comfortable rooms. Small well maintained backyard inside. But no biggy, eyepads work fine. -"the view on a river"...in reality it is a view on kind of old dirty port where some work is being done. however you are only 1 minute away from nice area:-) -suggest booking parking place at hotel before arrival, otherwise you would have a problem to find a place for your car. The rooms are not soubdproof, and you can hear the guest in othet room snoring!. Difficult to find car parking inside the hotel. Nothing. impossible to find any fault!. No landscaped area across the street, but this is not the hotel's fauld. terrible cold in the room (never attic room in this hotel!), no heater to share, a few tv programs only. Construction works have started in front of the location even late in the night trucks are running... Was missing a nice coffee at the breakfast.. A few thing (for example the coffee machine was broken for 2 days). TV receptions is pretty poor and in Polish only. I would NOT agree with the score ("Excellent"). It's alright, clean, close to the Old Town, basically you get what you pay for, but has nothing to do with the word Excellent which should be reserved for top-class facilities only. Thanks. Top floor room didn't have any curtains. parking price. because of the market, the hotel was hardly to reach. may be the walls are a bit thin. They did not hygiene shampoo cream. Very noisy, both from guests and the revellers in the street..no dining facilities other than breakfast..(Heavy snow meant difficulty in leaving the hotel to eat..so I starved) T. V. only bbc world(rubbish) all other channels Polish!!! Charge for car-park extortion... the noise levels, both from the street (in the wee sma' hours) and from the other rooms...The t.v. had nothing to watch from an english-speaking aspect, and, to watch the Real Madrid/Man U game, had to sit and watch in a freezing foyer..(What passes for the bar). not so good breakfast and the service is not professional.
