The hotel was lovely. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was a good size and really clean. Beds were comfortable. Lovely and warm inside despite being freezing outside. Fantastic location - right opposite one of Gdansk's most important museums and sculptures - perfect. No need to get taxi's or use public transport as the hotel is a 5 minute walk from all the main attractions.

Situation is quiet. Bedroom has good quality, modern furnishings and was warm and cosy after a day walking in the snow and cold wind! The hotel is very nice, in a small traditional looking house in the old town, although in an area that is still in need of extensive renovation. But anything you want to see in Gdansk is of easy reach from there, and hotel facilities match those of many 4 star hotels in other towns, although breakfast can be improved. We have stayed here in the past in other rooms and those rooms have been just fine (and not loud). the staff although very helpful,I found that the language barrier was difficult to express but we got there, I would recommend a phase book to help with transport ,and although it was a built up area and graffiti on the other side of the street I already read reviews and was not to concerned was very safe to walk about at night.Very close to the old town.Room was a little small however this was not a problem and at the price we paid for the room it was still very good value. If priced in Euros, need to pay in euros. The only bad thing was that the wasn´t any shaving mirror in the bath room and a garbage basket in the room.The safety box wasn´t bolted down, it was loose. lack of gym, rooms smallish, no a/c. They froze from the credit card the entire amount of the room just at the booking. Shower was a bit broken so all bathroom was wet - but they promisedto fix it:). The plumbing could be quite noisy and it sometimes sounded as if other guests were in our bathroom.The bedroom doors were lovely and solid but meant that they were quite noisy on shutting and locking. At first I wondered about the area in which it was situated it seemed a little rundown. After a few days I was more comfortable with this.Our shower drain emplied very slowly during a shower. The sink plug was broken. Only one English speaking TV channel. No spare pillow in the bedroom, plus there were two beds put together to form a double which was not ideal.The fact that the restaurantr has to be downstairs and thus has no natural light. There was no minibar in the room. Brakefast was OK but the coffee was too light and there was no real orange juice, just bad tasting sugar mix.I havn't feel safe in the hotel's area after sunset... a bit noicy. Room soundproofing very poor. no tea facilities in room. the area was v run down and scary to walk thro at night altho it was opposite the historic post office site of war time siege and quite quiet. wooden floors make it a bit noisy. The stuff didn´t speak english almost at all. Hotel bar shut early, we came back before 10pm one night and it was shut.Room was small and at top of a marble staricase so every noise could be heard. Room was also quite bland compared with pictures on website.
