A really nice resort. The room was a nice design and well equipped and the staff are excellent. The food in the resort was great. Its not cheap food. The price is higher than average but so is the quality. We had 4 nights and never left the resort the whole time. Check the happy hour jugs of cocktails 5pm-6pm! The Mohito is tops. You can see on the map that the resort is isolated needing a taxi to the town. This makes the place very private which was great for us. Also the private beach is a ma.
all reviews » If your looking for a great place to experience a super typhoon then Costabella is the place for you. I could not believe that they did not miss a beat even during the storm. Nothing like enjoying their fanastic breakfast buffet with 90 kph winds blowing outside. The place was back to normal the day after the storm. I can not say enough about the outstanding service from the entire staff and I will certainly be back with my family just not during typhoon season! :). The location was perfect! Beachside, you could swim after a minute's walk from your room. Staff were outstanding! The view from the beach is incredible--I met a couple who got married there, it was so good. The resort swimming pools are beautiful... surrounded by towering palms. A dream of a place--except it is real!. It's our second time at Costabella and I'm still happy with it. It was really peaceful during our stay because it was an off-peak season. As usual, I love their breakfast buffet, most especially their Puto & Sikwate! Their staff are wonderful and very friendly :) Their Lema Spa is fantastic :). 1.Hotel location. 2.Hospitality&staff friendly. 3.Variety&quantity&quality of breakfast food. 4.I would like to extend breakfast time to11:00 am as we are we are in a beach/seaside hotel. 5.Thanks &greetings to my nice lady Famili at the front desc&Peter at resturant. the staff were very friendly . the location incredible I arrived at night so when I woke up in the morning I opened my curtains to the most amazing view . A seaview suite is highly recommended . I was impressed with the size of our suite. We really enjoyed the swimming pools and our stay in the hotel. People are so nice and accommodating. Not too many guests during the time of my stay, it's peaceful and quite, the briza restaurant is good , with the cool singer around it made the ambience more interesting. - Happy staff, usually friendly. The food was good. There was nothing I did not like. This is one of the best kept secrets in the resort industry, as far as I am concerned. There was a renovation on one of their swimming pools, it was a bit of an eye-sore but really not that big a deal. I didn't like the taxi (Spider Taxi) that they called when we checked out and went home. As a resident of Cebu, Spider Taxi is one of the taxi operators that I don't like because of their drivers. I will just inform Costabella myself of my complaint about this particular driver but I hope in the future they would choose another taxi operator, like Holiday Taxi. 1.Road to hotel. 2.Staff asking guests to harry&collect their food before 10:00 (breakfast) 3.No arranged show at evening. 4.Mini bus to down town at 10:00 am is going only. 5.Towalet is not equipped with water hose for cleaning. there is nothing I dont like. Wi-fi is not accessible sometimes within the premises of the hotel (e.g room et.al). Food is quite expense. Place is too far in the city. We were offered Halo-halo "by the water". It arrived a bit late and has all melted. They only have one shampoo & one conditioner. They don't have foam bath (but it's not that big a deal). Air-conditioning doesn't have remote control. It stops when I increase the "fan" to 2 or 3. Shower handle is fixed. The rooms were not ready when we arrived at the hotel even though we checked-in late. Food was too ex and not that great in taste. Bedsheets were not very clean. A bit hard to find initially (taxi drove past it the first time). More expensive for meals than anticipated more remote than expected, except into the town which had little to offer not able to change travellers cheques at the hotel some of the information from the hotel was inaccurate. no sauna in spa; weak wifi signal. The internet really, really,really, really, sucked!!!. Price, breakfast, air conditioning, wifi. bad smell at restroom. The hotel could use at least one restaurant that is air conditioned. This might be beyond human control, but the beach lagoon area could use a redesign. The water can seem a little stagnant, and it empties out completely at low tide leaving no ocean area to swim in. No convenience store on site. Food. Too costly. Food- no danggit. shallow beach wait for high tide to enjoy swimming. Expensive. Food was not that good especially for the price. Don't mind paying for value but most meals were average. Not so much didn't like but felt a little uncomfortable with band singing to us at our table. They were very good but would have preferred them not to serenade us while we had our dinner. Location wise - not much outside of the resort but the hotel can arrange island trips/diving and snorkelling. The hotel is at the end of a dirt track so you cannot go out easily, except by taxi. The beach is clean but the sea is full of algae. Not many activities are available, young people would get bored. Hotel does not face the Beach, cleanliness could be better, Spa is not available as described in Welcome Map. Although cheaper that other hotels in Mactan for accommodation everything within the Hotel was overpriced. One thing i did not like,the beach a small trap beach .you need to wait until high tide to come ,an isolated beach. Standard international hotel. Travelling back to hotel at night No free airport transfer. No shuttle to the airport Check in - slow Not close to anything. Almost impossible to swim at the sea. Pre-authorized payment was discharged from credit card. It is still freezed (3weeks since trip). This is unacceptable. We reserved the taxi service from reception, then we waited around 1 hour for taxi for dinner from 6:15pm! Moreover, we had to pay the driver additional P50 service charge!! Since the location of Costabella is "isolated", guests need taxi to get anywhere in Lapu Lapu. It is better to provide shuttle services (even we need to pay). the hotel is far away, the tides of the sea very often, the sea is dirty. - The beach looks much better in the pictures than in reality; in fact, there is literally almost no beach (narrow, shallow, practically not for swimming) - delay in check in (and the continuous "ten more minutes", for over an hour) - checked into the wrong kind of room - offers money exchange but often lacks pesos (and the exchange rates are horrendous, even for the Cebu area) -. the location is far. the beach not swimmable. full of jelly fish. no restaurant nearby. overpriced food and services. you have to pay for everything even to make a local phone call from our hotel room. 36% percent tax on your payments...Totally new to me--never had such burden on me .... Dirty beach, curtains in the room are not good because sun will shine in to the rooms. The front desk staff were awful! not at all helpful. Very unfriendly, and very unhelpful. I would never recommend this place for A vacation for anyone, never!. Shower was not working and dirty towels and food expensive as well as lack of facilities. Too remote and captive with no transport provided.
